NS 8102, the Pennsylvania Railroad heritage unit leads NS 276 past the CPL at Seneca. The Altavista District is slated to loose its signals any day now, so lots of effort has been put in to document what is left.

Este tren trata de un automotor fabricado por Talgo en el año 2007 y que a modo de curiosidad, solo posee una cabeza tractora mientras que la otra está limitada a la conducción.

I went to the opening of the Photo exhibit in Seneca tonight held at the Blue Ridge Arts Council.
I met Dede there! She has a great photo in the show! This picture was taken in front of one of my photos in the show. It was really cool to meet Dede in person.
Was a late wintry day on that Spring Day we passed by Seneca Rocks, West Virginia. Here is a view looking up river. There were periodic snow showers passing by, but was able to get this shot in - in between them.

Seneca Rocks is a large crag rock formation and local landmark in Pendleton County in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, USA. It is easily visible and accessible along West Virginia Route 28 in the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. One of the best-known scenic attractions in West Virginia, the sheer rock faces of Seneca Rocks are a popular challenge for rock climbers.

This morning, with it being the final day of the KMEA Conference in Wichita, I found myself with some time to head towards the K&O's Orient Yard to photograph the local working.
There, I found the WAMX 4034 and 4035 leading the KOWIC06 from the yard up towards the BNSF interchange on the city's north side. For the local residents, these are everyday scenes, but for those of us from other parts of the state, it's nice to get to document these operations.
After getting clearance from the BNSF, the local rolled east on their line towards the Arkansas River. Here, it's seen here crossing Seneca St. in Wichita's McCormick neighborhood. The makeshift fencing of South Seneca Scrap on the left makes for quite the interesting photo prop, and could work great in summer months!
Each of these engines started off as GP40's for the newly-merged Penn Central in '68, with stops on the B&M, Amtrak, and Helm Leasing before finding their way to WATCO.
The stars were breathtaking the other evening, so I stopped by Seneca Rocks for a few minutes. I even saw a few meteors.. all coming between shots.

I snapped this at Stu's gig at the Silver Threads Winegarden in Lodi, NY.
On an decommissioned army depot near us, there's a herd of white white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus). They're not albino, but rather an uncommon mutation that makes them white. The county wants to develop the land, but a group of local citizens has started a campaign to save the deer and turn the area into a conservation park.
The Depot is closed to the public, but it's not unusual to see the white deer through the chain-link fence. Last fall, we went on a tour offered by the citizens' group (Seneca White Deer, Inc.) and got to see them up close from a schoolbus.

The Iowa Interstate Council Bluffs to Blue Island job, called CBBI, has just met its westbound counterpart, the BICB (Blue Island to Council Bluffs). IAIS 510 heads east, increasing in velocity as it passes by the restored Senca, IL train depot on a cold, snowy early March evening.
NS 279 pass through the control point of Seneca ounce the sight of a passing siding that was removed nearly a decade ago. The old N&W-era CPL signals still stand guard, but with a replacement signal on-site, their days are numbered.

A nearly 45 minute exposure of the earth spinning beneath the starry skies in Seneca, Oregon. If I could have stayed awake longer, I would have waited another hour in hopes of less light pollution to the north and west, so this is the best that I could come up with.
