(Self Expression series - Expressi Diri v2)

Its been a while since I last do experiment on self expression. I love the challenge to come up with the body language that convey certain emotions to people. Its hard, thats why makes it so interesting to try it out..

post processing was done to blacken the background a lil more

Im having problem finding a title or emotions thats suitable with this pics. Any suggestion of what you think I have in my mind when I pose like this?

CYRIL RUELLE SELF PORTRAIT 1997 1998

Twelve a Year: August

"I am the one winged bird for flying

Sinking quickly to the ground

See your faith in me subsiding

See you prime for giving in

I give you all that I am" - Lyrics from Rob Thomas

Unapologetically Nikki embraces bold beauty and self-expression. This striking portrait highlights natural confidence, vibrant red accents, and a serene blue backdrop, challenging societal norms and redefining elegance.

Yesterday, down by the river, this couple was dancing in the frigid air, to music from a boom box. They were right by the bridge; they seemed to have selected a place that would be visible to the public. I smiled as I walked by.

One hour later, on my return trip, I observed that the two were still there, dancing as joyfully as they had been before.

I love my sweet hot hubby...

Inspired by a song by Lagbaja where part of the lyric goes something like: "If I be fire and you laugh I don't care...I am free to express myself"

I have used an idea similar to this quite recently but it was late and I was having flickr block, so this is what I came up with tonight: Similar shoes in Black; new setting

For Kira's Art Journal Challenge..."Today, find a snapshot, paste it in your journal".....

I found this old picture from a road trip from KY to Gatlinburg TN, where I'd snapped a photo of my feet up on the dashboard. I just got the inspiration and went with it....sanded the photo down, painted the sky and background with watercolors...and glued into a journal page I painted previously...I added the blue/green strip of painted paper and went from there.....

This is one of my recent faves...

NEW CLEAR IS THE NEW KEEN... A WORD PLAY OF COURSE (ONCE AGAIN) AND TO BE FOLLOWED BY OTHER ONES AS TIMES WERE COMING THAT I FOUND MYSELF INTO SOME WET SANDS AGAIN, ALTHOUGH THIS TIME, I WAS AT LEAST OUT OF BEING TOO CLOSE TO BEING IN THE STREETS.

This work came of age on march 11 2011, the day where Japan had known the "Fukushima Incident"

It's a mirror work to the famous infamous yellow cake supposedly to be found in Irak years before.

it is as well just a statement about the state of affair in our societies where to be lost does not necessarily make of you someone who is gonna be helped.

NEW KEEN (NUKE IN) IS THE NEW CLEAR (NUCLEAR..)(well) YELL'O C-ACHE

Mona of the Playa I dreamed a dream while the masters brush coaxed my image from his paints. And in that dream, a deser, covered in white , cracked earth, boomed with man wondrous things. Shiny things, sailing ships. an elepaht, octopus and more did glide upon the sacred playa floor. There were temples there and flowers near as tall that shown forth light at night and stones tha sang when stepped upon. Lovers in embrace rose from the sand and there were sculptures, some which moved and some climbed upon by the denizens. Everywhere I looked, men and women, children, too, dressed head to toe in gaiety, did march and dance and play. And here, amidst this spectacle, arose a mighty Man, taller than all things, an effigy of one year spent, of lessons learned and of letting go. I was told the Man would burn. And, oh how bright and marvelous this scene did sparkle and beckon to me, calling out, "dance the wind, dare the fire and let the playa adorn you."

On this day my dear friend Erica asked me to take a mould of her left breast before the mastectomy. After a first failed attempt we managed to take a cast of it. Another step in her journey that is breast cancer...... If you have been touched by cancer, or by the strength that Ericas story shows please donate to www.mcgrathfoundation.com or www.nbcf.org.au/

You will never know whose sister, mother, friend you will be helping....one day it may be yours!
