I took the opportunity to add another car image to my portfolio in one of my favorite locations in London.

This is my step-grandaughter, aged 4. A member of Nyx's pack :o) Hope you like my first attempt at selective colour. I am aware that many groups don't allow pictures of children. That's OK - I just liked her a LOT ! Thanks for your visit, Alan, Carol, Oliver and Nyx - you made my birthday very special. And thank you Christina for letting me take your portrait. You are very special too. And you weren't even 'posing' !! :o)

Call me a weirdo, butt...

I initiated the processing of this photo with selective colour, deeming that the surroundings distracted from my subjects in the comp; i.e., the people. Ya so, you might say, where's the 'weirdo' part? Ha! Well, glad you asked!

The young lady taking the cell phone photo is my daughter, Elizabeth. I paint in selective colour and, well... when I gets to the parts where a normal dad shouldn't be looking, I gets all squeamish-like!

Of note: When using the same technique on the young mother prancing up the street with her hubby and child, that didn't happen! Go figure.

The Sound of Trees

I wonder about the trees.

Why do we wish to bear

Forever the noise of these

More than another noise

So close to our dwelling place?

We suffer them by the day

Till we lose all measure of pace,

And fixity in our joys,

And acquire a listening air.

They are that that talks of going

But never gets away;

And that talks no less for knowing,

As it grows wiser and older,

That now it means to stay.

My feet tug at the floor

And my head sways to my shoulder

Sometimes when I watch trees sway,

From the window or the door.

I shall set forth for somewhere,

I shall make the reckless choice

Some day when they are in voice

And tossing so as to scare

The white clouds over them on.

I shall have less to say,

But I shall be gone.

Hey, look - new corset!

I really enjoyed the experience of buying this. After the initial "oh, it's for you?" thing, the lady in the shop measured my waist and said I needed a 28 or 30 inch waist. I left the shop with a 26 inch one! I am clearly compressible.

Breast Cancer does not discriminate. It can strike women from all backgrounds, races, and ethnicities, the rich and the poor, the old and the young. Yup, despite the age old perception, young women can and do get breast cancer. Why wait to cop a feel? The sooner you do it, the sooner you will get to know your boobies and be certain that something feels right or wrong.

How do I check my breasts?

There’s no right or wrong way to check your breasts. Try to get used to looking at and feeling your breasts regularly. You can do this in the bath or shower, when you use body lotion, or when you get dressed. There’s really no need to change your everyday routine. Just decide what you are comfortable with and what suits you best.

Remember to check all parts of your breast, your armpits and up to your collarbone.

The breast awareness 5-point code

1. Know what is normal for you

2. Know what changes to look and feel for

3. Look and feel

4. Report any changes to your GP without delay

5. Attend routine breast screening if you are aged 50 or over

The Prado Museum is the main Spanish national art museum, located in central Madrid. It features one of the world's finest collections of European art, dating from the 12th century to the early 20th century, based on the former Spanish Royal Collection, and unquestionably the best single collection of Spanish art. Founded as a museum of paintings and sculpture in 1819, it also contains important collections of other types of works. El Prado is one of the most visited sites in the world, and is considered one the greatest museums of art in the world. The numerous works by Francisco de Goya, the single most extensively represented artist, as well as by Diego Velázquez, El Greco, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens and Hieronymus Bosch are some of the highlights of the collection.

The collection currently comprises around 7,600 paintings, 1,000 sculptures, 4,800 prints and 8,200 drawings, in addition to a large number of other works of art and historic documents.

Hubby and I went to Coq d'Argent on Friday night, a fantastic restaurant and an oasis in the middle of the City with its stunning roof garden. It is situated on top of Bank tube station and on our way out, whilst waiting for the lift to take us back to ground level, I took this shot of the office windows surrounding the station courtyard.

PS: I didn't recolour the windows in photoshop, they really are yellow, blue and pink.
