- Established in 1871, Benz & Cie. was the most important of several companies founded by Karl Benz.
- Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (DMG) was founded by Gottlieb Daimler and his partner Wilhelm Maybach in 1890. Daimler died in 1900 and Maybach left DMG in 1907.
- By then, Benz & Cie. and DMG were rivals.
- In 1924, owing to economic necessity after World War I, they entered into an "Agreement of Mutual Interest", allowing each company to manufacture and sell their products under their original brand names. After the official merger in June 28, 1926, the firm became known as Daimler-Benz.
- The "Ponton model" was Daimler-Benz's first totally new Series of passenger vehicles produced after World War II.
- The complete 180 W120 Series run from July 1953 until October 1962, divided into 5 Series: Series I: July 1953 - September 1955 / Series II: September 1955 - June 1957 / this A Series III: June 1957 - July 1959 / B Series IV: July 1959 - August 1961 / and C Series V: June 1961 - October 1962 => 118,234 units in total.
- They were assembled in Sindelfingen (Germany), Port Melbourne (Australia) and in East London (South Africa).
I attended a 21st Birthday Party recently and we all got dressed up in masks. Some were pandas, some were pirates but most wore masks with feathers. I wore my mask on the top of the head as it interfered with my glasses & camera. But I thought JT was looking great with black top hat and tails. For Smile on Saturday theme of Selective Multicolours. Also for Definitely Dreaming theme (a long time ago) of celebration.

In a sentimental mood
I can see the stars come through my room
While your loving attitude
Is like a flame that lights the gloom.
On the wings of every kiss
Drifts a melody so strange and sweet.
In this sentimental bliss
You make my paradise complete.
Rose petals seem to fall,
it's all like a dream to call you mine.
My heart's a lighter thing
since you made this night a thing divine.
In a sentimental mood
I'm within a world so heavenly
For I never dreamt that you'd
Be loving sentimental me.

Auto retrato
Spotted this lost baby shoe on railings, by the time I came back it had gone.
Had it faded from reality?
Well it gave me the idea to change the pink shoe to grey as if without its owner it was fading from reality colour first.
Underneath the stars you met me
And here beneath the stars you left me
I wonder if the stars regret me
I'm sure they'd like me if they only met me
They come and go of their own free will
We’re Here: Five Pointed Stars
I had those lyrics running through my head after I took this but couldn't remember where they came from. But thanks to the wonderful world wide internety web I managed to find that it was Private Universe by Crowded House. Of course it would be Crowded House hehe
Not only have I just got the view through the arch in colour I have give the arch itself a soft focus to see what the effect would look like
Since I had great feedback from www.500px.com (over 4.000 view, over 400 votes and over 200 favourites) I decided to make second version, as you see angle is the same but a bit different position stepping back.
please let me know what you think, comments and faves appreciated...
This is a fist version of the same composition:

Handheld three exposures processed in Photomatix Pro, distortion reduced in PTLens, B & W and selective colour effect added in Silver Efex Pro 2 and completed work in Photoshop CS5.
A Lovely professional dancer from the Broadway Musical "Chicago" selling signed posters after the show for donations towards AIDS research.
Manhattan,NYC.
Possibly not a very note worthy image but I felt adding the selective colour gives it more interest and is now an image that can be studied a little closer.
