52 weeks of 2025- Selective colour

This picture was taken at Storuman Train station in the north of Sweden. In the past, this was a bustling station full of life but recently the station has declined in importance. There are still traffic between Umeå and Lycksele that will stop at the station.

Team colours.

Welland Viaduct, also known as Harringworth Viaduct and Seaton Viaduct, is a railway viaduct which crosses the valley of the River Welland between Harringworth in Northamptonshire and Seaton in Rutland, England. It is 1,275 yards (1.166 km) long and has 82 arches, each of which has a 40 feet (12 m) span.

Saturday Self Challenge 13/01/2018 Selective Colour .

Sorry folks , this is all I can do for this challenge , I do not have photoshop or similar - just a couple of craft programmes - found selective colour on one but still trying to figure it out . So for the challenge out with the compact with a useful filter or two and first off got a landscape shot ( see shot in comment box ) . Then time for mundane things and saw a new shot , could have popped the orange on the trollies but the red had more punch - so there is my shot for the challenge !

Now every one is off there trolley !!

I've always thought that old post boxes and telephone boxes would make for an interesting subject. In the little Nottinghamshire village of Edingley, these two iconic beauties stand proud, side by side next to The Old Reindeer. Thought it would be an interesting shot for a bit of selective colouring, anything for a bit of fun!

Running errands in town and stopped in at The Pickle Barrel for some lunch with my daughter. I didn’t get the Reuben but I bet it would taste good; afterall, they've had some time to perfect it. 😋

Thanks for your visit!

The opening of Miesian Plaza has been a well-debated and long-awaited project. Dating back to the 1960s and 1970s, the building has housed some of Ireland’s most prestigious organisations over the years.

Now, and after years of meticulous renovation and restoration, the building is set to welcome its new tenants, including the likes of Ireland’s Department of Health.

Aiming to achieve the highest LEED platinum accreditation, architects Scott Tallon Walker have said their goal is: “To provide Grade A accommodation of the highest modern standard to equal or surpass the finest developments in the market.”

Yesterday's show in Køge was just another day at the office for experienced Bastian. Now he has been to 10 shows and won 7...

In case you missed it, see my video from a show in 2016: Bastian at the Cat Show.

Maeklong Market

Maeklong Railway Market is one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand, and is centred on the Maeklong Railway's track. Whenever a train approaches, the awnings and shop fronts are moved back from the rails, to be replaced once the train has passed.

For this week's challenge, I wanted to try and get as close to the final image as possible and really make sure the main colour stood out with very minimal post-processing. The best part is that I now have a bunch of mints to eat! :)

This is the Central Criminal Court, also known as the Old Bailey, and it was just asking to be rendered in black & white. However, I couldn't resist a bit of selective colour to pick out the red and white crest of the City of London Corporation on the entrance, plus Lady Justice up there on the dome needs to be resplendent in gold.

"...And I've been knocking but no one answers

And I've been knocking most all the day

Oh and I've been calling oh hey hey Johnny

Can't you come out to play

And through their tears

Some say he farmed his best in younger years

But he'd have said that roots grow stronger if only he could hear

Who lived there

He must have been a gardener that cared a lot

Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop

Now we pray for rain, and with every drop that falls

We hear, we hear your name.

And I've been knocking but no one answers

And I've been knocking most all the day

Oh and I've been calling oh hey hey Johnny

Can't you come out to play.

Johnny can't you come out to play in your empty garden?"
