Ranked ALL STAR in GuruShots Something Different contest

Taken late afternoon on Friday and here the new life is just starting to appear. Tried a selective colour on a light green using the art filter on the E-M1 to try to pick out the new leaves and this is how the camera captured the shot. A simple photo of a fern frond,

Drove past this scene yesterday in bright sunshine with a blue sky and the big Horse Chestnut stood out so well , however , got back there with a camera and no car to grab a shot and today is right grimsel & grey with everything looking well flat . Idea ! I have the little TZ60 with me so take a shot with that and it will let me do a colour pop on all of the brown/copper coloured leaves leaving an otherwise B&W shot behind .

In a year when public Remembrance Day ceremonies are greatly curtailed, I serendipitously and randomly came across this tableau in a farm field.

Photo in picture taken by Irina Shkoda.

In April 2022, Irina Shkoda left Ukraine for France, as a refugee. She entered a culture that was entirely foreign to her, which required her to adopt a new country, to speak a new language , to submit to new rules, to lose part of herself in order to be accepted.

This photo is part of her project to explore her personal experience of hospitality both given and received…..

Her photo shown received second place in the professional/Creative section of the Sony World photography Awards. Irina, for what it’s worth I would have placed you first!

Thanks for visiting…..

This is Tizzy. She used to be a feak and try to claw and bite you just for coming near her, shes has grown into quite the beautiful loving friend.

Wrap up warm ... x

A cold, frosty, foggy morning. Just the sort of winter weather I like. Warm and cosy indoors. We did walk into town after breakfast - wrapped up for the weather. Keep warm or cool wherever you are on this beautiful planet of ours xxx

Saturday Self Challenge - selective colour

Taken on my walk this week, and the selective colour done in Photoshop Elements 2018.

A world of shadows: light and dark, new and old, quiet and busy, earth and water, little and large...

Un mundo de sombras: luz y oscuridad, nuevo y viejo, tranquilo y ocupado, tierra y agua, pequeño y largo...

Sydney’s light rail system is undergoing its final stages of testing and is expected to open early December, 2019. The 12km route will feature 19 stops, extending from Circular Quay along George Street to Central Station, through Surry Hills to Moore Park, then to Kensington and Kingsford via Anzac Parade and Randwick.

Experimenting with zoom blur, I took this shot at 1/6th of second and zoomed out while trying to keep as steady as possible.
