Secure the Bag, Mint the Soaps and Throw the Bones is a site of exchange that aims to recontextualize the intricate histories of the brown paper bag and Hispano cuaba soap while inviting the audience to play a game of dominoes. This is based on the artist’s ongoing examination of these items found in private and domestic settings. Nonetheless, their combined racialized, colonial and social complexity reverberates in the customs and dynamics of collective space within a black diasporic subjectivity and imagination. Securing the Castle - Live Conference 2021 - 28 September 2021

I found it quite ironic that this building is locked up so tight yet is also wide open. Three photos in this series.

Lines are secured, engines are off as fueling preparations begin at "Sterling Fuel Dock" in Windsor, Ontario.

This zippered wristlet is made from a gorgeous cotton Lila Tueller Fabric. This fabric is from the Woodland Bloom Collection. The fabric is a lovely tan color with a pink, green, brown and yellow floral print. The inside is fully lined in creme colored fabric. It closes securely with a 9 inch zipper.

I discovered that if you apply the copper strips to both elements and then join them together, a stronger bond is created. Solder hides the copper and strengthens the whole assemblage.

Washington, D.C. – Following is a statement by Christopher Shelton, president of the Communications Workers of America:(*)

All along the 860-mile journey, CWA members have been proud participants in "America's Journey for Justice,” pushing back against new attacks on the right to vote across the country.(*)

From Selma, Ala., to Washington, D.C., we’ve joined our allies and followed in the footsteps of the past generation of civil rights leaders who at great personal cost stood for the rights of all to fully participate in our nation and our democracy.(*)

Today, just as 50 years ago, we must build a movement to secure our freedom. This means freedom from want, by expanding good jobs and fair wages, and as well as our democratic freedoms, like the right to vote. That’s the only way to ensure a truly participatory democracy by and for the people.(*)

We’ll be taking that message to lawmakers on Capitol Hill, who must declare which side they’re on: the side of justice and democracy for all or the extremists who continue to assault our democracy.(*)

CWA is proud to stand with the NAACP and all our partners in the Democracy Initiative who are part of the Journey for Justice. Only by joining together as we’re doing today, can we create a society and a community where everyone has an equal voice and an equal chance.

After an amusing experience with another explorer, some impressive cuts and bruises, and some CCTV shenanigans, this visit was best described as "probing".
