He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
3Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
4He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
9Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”
Marsh Harrier - Circus Aeruginosus
The marsh harriers are birds of prey of the harrier subfamily. They are medium-sized raptors and the largest and broadest-winged harriers. Most of them are associated with marshland and dense reedbeds. They are found almost worldwide, excluding only the Americas.
It hunts small mammals, frogs, fish, insects and birds, surprising them as it drifts low over fields and reedbeds. Its long legs allow it to pluck frogs and fish from the water mid-swoop. The western marsh harrier is a typical harrier, with long wings held in a shallow V in its low flight. It also resembles other harriers in having distinct male and female plumages, but its plumages are quite different from those of its relatives. The male has wings with grey and brown sections and black wingtips. Its head, tail and underparts are greyish, except for the chestnut belly. The female is mainly brown with a cream crown and cream leading edge to her wings. It is 19-22 inches long and weighs 1-2 lbs.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Marsh harrier was hunted to extinction in the United Kingdom. After being reintroduced from other regions, its population steadily increased until DDT threatened it, along with other raptors, in the 50's and 60's. Since, the population has slowly and steadily increased.
Its future in the UK is now more secure than at any time during the last century, but historical declines and subsequent recovery means it is an Amber List species. Marsh harriers are a Schedule 1 listed bird on The Wildlife and Countryside Act.

Fun Fact!
The Eurasian Nuthatch (Sitta europaea) is a truly unique woodland bird. It is the only bird in Europe that can climb down a tree trunk head-first with the same agility as it climbs up. Unlike woodpeckers, they do not use their tail feathers for balance or support; instead, they rely entirely on their remarkably strong legs and sharp, powerful claws.
They are also famous for their clever masonry skills. Nuthatches typically nest in old woodpecker holes and will meticulously plaster the entrance shut with mud and saliva to reduce its size. This prevents larger predators or competitors (like starlings or woodpeckers) from entering. During autumn, they are incredibly busy caching seeds, acorns, and hazelnuts into bark crevices to secure their winter food supply.

De boomklever (Sitta europaea) is een unieke vogel in onze bossen. Het is de enige Europese vogel die met evenveel gemak loodrecht omhoog als head-first omlaag langs een boomstam kan lopen. In tegenstelling tot spechten gebruiken ze hun staart hierbij niet als steun; ze vertrouwen volledig op hun enorm krachtige poten en scherpe klauwen.
Daarnaast staat deze vogel bekend om zijn 'metselwerk'. Ze nestelen in oude spechtenholen en verkleinen de ingang door deze dicht te metselen met modder en speeksel. Zo zorgen ze ervoor dat grotere kapers (zoals de grote bonte specht of kauwen) hun nest niet kunnen kraken. In de herfst leggen ze grote wintervoorraden aan van zaden, noten en hazelnoten, die ze handig in boomspleten verstoppen.

l am wild and free!! Wondering through the Soft tender wild lush pastures scorched by the suns warmth and light in their golden brown hues so tender glistening with the golden sun.
