Nadat in 1998 het theater 'Prins van Oranje' werd gesloten, opende in 2003 Theater de Mythe haar deuren in Goes. Het theater biedt een brede programmering op het gebied van toneel, cabaret, muziek en dans. Naast professionele artiesten, is er ook ruimte voor amateurgezelschappen.

After the 'Prins van Oranje' theater was closed in 1998, Theater de Mythe opened its doors in Goes in 2003. The theater offers a wide range of drama, cabaret, music and dance programming. In addition to professional artists, there is also room for amateur companies.

The Mandarin duck - thre male - is the most beautiful and colorful duck in the world. With his colorful feather dress he can be overseen between the colorful autumn nature. The famale duck however is more pale and matches with the color of the water and does not attract your eyes.

Behind this couple there is hidden another great duck. Two male Wood Ducks - for me the second colorful ducks. Both species are not native with us. There are very few in Germany mostly in Parcs and Zoos.

Two years ago I realized them in our area a small paradise with many ponds. It seems they like it here and decided to stay for ever for the whole year. This might also be due to the climate change.

For me it is always a pleasure to see them on their favourite places.

In search of the Place where the Mojave Phone Boot was. Allmost 50 km driving in the desert.

På jakt efter platsen där Mojave Telefonkiosken stod. Den blev borttagen 2006. Nästan 50 km körning i öknen, totalt.

I often searched for large Ayers Rock photos only to discover that these were rare and most photographers didn't share them. So I vowed to take photos of the Red Centre and post them full size so everyone could see them. So here is a huge panorama of 29 photos using a 200 mm lens. You can see several people still climbing the formation even though it will soon be dark. You can see a shadow at the base of Ayers Rock and it didn’t take long before the sun set.

My least favorite time of the year has to be after the autumn leaves have fallen until we have snow. It is already cold and everything just looks grey and blah.

On this day, I went on a mission to find some beauty and by the end of the day I had changed my mind. If you look hard enough, you will find the beauty in anything. When you find yourself forgetting that..... look again.

A location I've wanted to visit for some time is 'Sculpture by the Lakes' near Dorchester in Dorset. It's a sculpture park featuring many wonderful works by renowned sculptor Simon Gudgeon. The art is thoughtfully placed in the beautifully landscaped grounds, and it's well worth a visit, both for photographers and art lovers alike.

Built in 1963 and now withdrawn from service, this Westland Wessex HC.2 XR498 in No. 22 Squadron search and rescue yellow was in the static display at RAF Cosford air show on 11th June 2023.

It was a very interesting experience shooting this location even if my first choice angle was not accessible at the time because the area was closed. However this made me search for other angles that could express my idea and pushed me to be creative. Now I think this angle is even better than what I had in mind before getting there. Many times limitations can make you find even better and more creative solutions than what easy going situations can. I’ve had countless experiences like this in architectural design and photography, and generally in life. I could even say I love these challenges because they push my mind and imagination further and I become richer as a result.

Geunjeongjeon is the main hall of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Officials assembled in this hall to wish the kings a Happy New Year. And this place was also used by kings to conduct state affairs, hold national ceremonies, and receive foreign envoys. It was built in 1394 (the 3rd year of King Taejo). Kings in the early years of Joseon, including King Jeongjong, ascended their thrones in this court. Its name, Geunjeong, literally indicated diligent politics, which was originated in the belief that the more rulers are diligent, the better they rule over the state. It was burnt down during the Japanese Invasion in 1592, and rebuilt in 1867, the 4th year of King Gojong. Geunjeongjeon is a second-story building that contains 5 rooms each in the front and side. The roof is ‘八’ shaped from the side. The stone platforms in front of the hall are carved with various animal ornaments, including 12 Chinese zodiac signs. The throne is centered toward the back of the hall. Behind the throne, there are folding screen and canopy located over the throne. Various wooden poles support the roofs. The stones, indicating the rank of officials, are placed on either of the corridor from Geunjeongjeon to Geunjeongmun Gate. The rings used to tie the sunshade are still remained in front of the court. Small rooms for servants on both sides of Geunjeongmun circled around Geunjeongjeon. Geunjeongjeon in Gyeongbokgung Palace shows dignity of the palace and is considered as a magnificent building that was losing its sophisticated touch after the middle of the Joseon Dynasty.

This is one of a pair of Search and Rescue fast patrol boats built in 1998 by Vittoria Naval Shipyard, Adria, in Italy for the Italian Civil Protection Department similar to the SARs already in service with the Italian Coast Guard.

The vessels were transferred to the Maritime Squadron of the AFM, the Armed Forces of Malta in May 1999. The Armed Forces of Malta is the national SAR agency in Malta. The two vessels, Melita 1 & 2 underwent mid-life upgrade works between April and July 2011.

This was shot in the Grand Harbour, Valletta, Malta.

Last night was full moon. I searched for a freeway that would line up with the rising moon, and I drove to a footbridge that crosses Highway 101 in the Menlo Park, California. There was a lot of traffic for a Saturday night.

I processed a soft HDR photo from 1 RAW exposure, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

The gilded statue of Anna Pavlova atop the Apollo Theatre, in Victoria, London.

The original statue of the leading Russian ballerina Pavlova (February 1881–January 1931) was erected by the owner of the Apollo, Alfred Butt, to celebrate his role in her career. Pavlova herself considered it unlucky and avoided looking at it whenever she visited. It was taken down in 1939 for safe keeping during the war, but was lost. The replica was erected in 2006.

Taken with a Nikon D7000 and a Nikkor AFS DX 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6G lens, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.
