Anticipating a need for housing for wildfire evacuees in Northern California, a shelter was set up at the Contra Costa Community College by Red Cross and college student volunteers from the Bay Area as well Red Crossers deployed from other states.

One of the few YAIAA girls basketball games scheduled for a Saturday, put the Berks Catholic Saints girls basketball team on the road to visit West York Bulldogs. It would be back to back days for a home stand at the Lady Bulldogs gymnasium and looking to improve thier record in the York/Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association Division II standings, currently sitting in 3rd place. Continuing with their promotion schedule, the Reading Royals offered a special night for college students. In between the first and second period the first ever bubble ball ice soccer match happened with two teams of students donned in bubble balls and attempted to score a goal. While soccer on the ice was unique, the money was the main attraction with chuck a puck during the second and third period. Spectators purchased pucks and threw them towards center ice in hopes of landing in the perfect spot to win some cash.
