By talking to Jean-Paul Mendy (IBF #1), and seeing the confidence he possesses, you'd almost think that he was the champion defending his title on Saturday night, rather than the other way around. Few fighters, in his position would be able to possess such a calm and collective demeanor, but for Mendy his fight against IBF Super Middleweight Titleist, Lucian Bute, in Bute's home country of Romania, seems to be just another day in office. Mendy challenges Bute this Saturday night at the Romexpo in Bucharest, Romania. The bout is promoted by EuroPlstar boxingus Computers S.R.L. and Interbox in association with Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing.
"Training camp was very good, I worked very hard for this fight, and I am ready to go Saturday night," stated Mendy.
While Bute is considered by many to be the top super middleweight, and one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world, Mendy says he doesn't see anything in particular that overly impresses him.
"I have had a very long career in the sport, and seen many different fighters. I competed in the Olympics and have yet to be beaten as a professional. To me Lucian Bute is just another fighter. The only difference is that he is a champion, and for that I'm very happy that I have this opportunity to finally fight for a world championship."
The fight Saturday night will be only Bute's second as a professional, and first as world champion in his home country of Romania, and a raucous crowd is expected to be on hand. Again though, Mendy is unfazed, if anything, he is excited about it.
"I have been to Romania before and I really liked the country and the people so I am very much looking forward to fighting there. I expect everyone there to be cheering for him, but the ring that night will be just like any other ring I have fought in. The fans, whether they are for me or against me, will stimulate me, and I will feed off their energy. I know that as long as I am myself and box like I know how, I will be victorious in this fight."
Bute (28-0, 23KO's) vs Mendy (29-0-1, 16KO's) is scheduled for twelve rounds and will be for Bute's IBF Super Middleweight Championship. The bout is promoted by EuroPlus Computers S.R.L. and Interbox in association with Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing.

The ferry Hamnavoe decided because of the weather forecast that it would not be possible to operate the scheduled 16.00 sailing from Stromness to Scrabster, so her captain decided (the same as Pentland Ferries on the other side of the Pentland Firth) to depart early to get out through Hoy Sound because it was going to be Wind against the Tide and what you see is the Sea Conditions in Hoy Sound as she heads over to Scrabster.
The return journey went from Scrabster along the North Coast of Caithness/Scotland towards Stroma (almost Gills Bay where the Pentalina ferry goes to) before then crossing over towards Orkney and Scapaflow coming back through Hoxa Sound and on up to Stromness.
There will be NO crossings from either of the 2 ferry companies on Saturday, 16.11.24, because of the sea conditions. The next expected sailings will be on Sunday afternoon, 17.11.24, weather permitting.

It was a scheduled road run for several clubs of street car enthusiasts otherwise known as hot rodder's.
The plan was to meet at Port Macquarie for a get-together following a two year hiatus due to Covid.
However it was not some mysterious disease that kept them away but rather it was Mother Nature.
For a week prior the mid north coast of New South Wales was deluged with rain, and it rained and it rained.
It resulted in many 'no shows' for the event but it certainly didn't dampen the enthusiasm of those who did attend.
I captured this image of a a highly polished shaker on one of the cars following what was yet another unexpected downpour but I feel that it only added to the image.

The Old Bridge in Huntingdon (now part of Cambridgeshire, England) is a well-preserved medieval stone bridge over the River Great Ouse, connecting Huntingdon to Godmanchester.
The town has long been an important bridgehead, with Ermine Street (connecting London to Lincoln and York), as well as various east–west trade routes, crossing the Great Ouse here. Ermine Street would have first crossed the river here via a ford, believed to be some way to the west of the present bridge. Edward the Elder built a wooden bridge in the early 10th century a few yards to the west of the current bridge, and also ordered the nearby Huntingdon Castle to be rebuilt. Until the 1107 construction of the first bridge in St Ives, it is believed that there was no bridge further downstream, and foreign trade would navigate the river as far upstream as Huntingdon.
Responsibility for the bridge's repair was for centuries a matter of dispute. In 1259 a court ruling finally ordered that the county should pay to keep it repaired in return for rendering the bridge toll-free. Nonetheless, the bridge remained in a poorly maintained state, and by 1329 was declared to be in severe danger of collapse.
The current bridge was constructed around 1332, with work starting on both banks or the river. The slight kink near the central pier was a result of the lack of alignment of the two halves. Consisting of six arches and faced with ashlar, the parapets which form recesses for pedestrians, are triangular in shape on the north side, and semi-hexagonal on the south.
It was intended for both pedestrian and horse-drawn transport (the bridge has recesses for people to stand to let the heavier traffic pass), but now serves exclusively for light vehicular traffic. Pedestrians use a parallel footbridge just metres upstream, and heavy goods vehicles must use the modern bridge, which forms part of the A14 bypass. However, until that was built in 1975, the narrow medieval bridge stood alone, and had to be used by both lorries travelling the [Old North Road] and footgoing shoppers, to the dissatisfaction of all parties.
The bridge is now Grade I listed and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
In 2006 an entire portion of parapet was struck by traffic and plunged into the river, the repair has been done to English Heritage standard.
Named for the Greek god of fear, Phobos is one of Mars' two moons (Deimos, named for the god of terror, is the other), and it's only about 13 miles (21 kilometers) across. Stickney Crater, the indentation on the moon's lower right, is about 5.6 miles (9 kilometers) wide in this image from the HiRISE aboard NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Despite its small size, Phobos is of great interest to scientists: Is it a captured asteroid, or a chunk of Mars that broke off after a massive impact? A Japanese mission is scheduled to launch to Phobos in the near future, and the moon has been proposed as a staging ground for astronauts before they go to Mars.

With the current schedule that No 1 has been on this summer and having gotten burnt my last trip up I'm hopeful that the schedule will change to a more favourable departure out of Brownville Jct. Back in 2018 No 1 was a morning departure out of YD which made for a good day chase. My friend has them in the corner as they grind up through Bodfish. No 1 was a tonnage train today and those 38's were sure growling as they went by, still not as good as the sound of 244's and 251's that use to be a daily occurrence

Last night was the annual Million Mask March through central London. After the troubles last year, such as the burning of a police car there were a lot more police on the streets, and they were much more assertive in dealing with protesters.
The red lines on this guy are focus beams from a TV camera outside the van. I couldn't help thinking it looked like the Terminator had tracked him down!
With a Tim Horton's mug full of fresh coffee in hand, engineer Mitchell and conductor Beattie climb aboard CITX 3071, a former SOO Line SD40-2, next to the old Canadian Pacific station at Sherbrooke, Quebec. Described by Mitchell as a "Monday to Friday railroad", train no. 2 from Brownsville Junction, Maine to Farnham, Quebec was running nearly 38 hours behind "schedule" on this particular Sunday afternoon.
I really over-scheduled myself on this day. It started out early and was 100% full of photography activity! I don't remember having a spare 5 minutes just to sit there and zone out.... I do try to plan a little zone-out time, but this day I didn't. I kind of build my day like I was playing an RTS game, making sure I never had any idle workers.
After I got off the tube at Marylebone station, I exited into this scene. This is the little area I crossed every day to get from the tube into my hotel. It looked so perfect in the rain that I just had to take a photo...even though I was dog-tired.

A specially upgraded radio-frequency chamber in ESA’s technical heart is testing what is set to become the smallest radar system to be flown in space, hosted aboard a breadbox-sized spacecraft.
Scheduled to fly to the Didymos binary asteroid system with ESA’s Hera mission for planetary defence in 2024, the compact radar aboard the Juventas CubeSat will perform the first ever radar sounding inside an asteroid. Juventas will peer up to 100 m deep within the 160-m-diameter Dimorphos moonlet of the 780-m-diameter Didymos asteroid.
CubeSats are mini-satellites built up from standardised 10-cm boxes. Juventas is a ‘6-unit’ CubeSat, measuring 10x20x30 cm, while its quartet of radar antennas measure 1.5 m long each. So the test campaign includes a structural model of the Juventas CubeSat, to evaluate how the body of the miniature spacecraft might affect the radar signals.
The test campaign is taking place inside the ‘Hybrid European Radio Frequency and Antenna Test Zone’ or Hertz chamber at ESA’s European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in the Netherlands. However testing here only became feasible after a skillful upgrade.
“An essential element of anechoic test chambers like Hertz are the radio-absorbing foam spikes lining the inside walls, allowing tests to mimic the infinite void of space,” explains ESA antenna engineer Paul Moseley.
“But typically Hertz can only test down to 400 MHz, while Hertz’s main antennas will radiate at 60 MHz. At this frequency the spikes no longer absorb signals, so instead of a dark room the chamber would be turned into a hall of mirrors, throwing out multiple radio reflections that interfere with the accuracy of our measurements.”
ESA’s Hertz team worked with MVG in Italy to devise a new setup making lower frequency testing possible, initially as part of a general upgrade but then specially targeted to enable Juventas testing.
Paul adds: “It’s a combination of hardware and software that allows us to measure in this environment but still reconstruct the correct results, including fibreglass support towers that are transparent to antennas and software that combines measurements made at many different points across the room, in order to cancel out the reflection effects.”
Franco Perez Lissi of ESA’s CubeSats Systems Unit is overseeing the Juventas testing: “We’re measuring the radiation pattern in a full sphere surrounding the antennas- the results of which should also be very useful for Juventas’s critical design review, taking place next month – as well as the total radiated power. This entire campaign additionally serves as a dress rehearsal of sorts for the flight model of Juventas, which is scheduled to be tested here in early 2023.”
The radar aboard Juventas is developed from the Rosetta spacecraft’s CONSERT radar system, which peered into the interior of Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. It is a synthetic aperture radar design, meaning it will take advantage of Juventas’s orbit 3 km above the surface of Dimorphos to integrate together multiple signal reflections and resolve them into images.
“We are proud to see Rosetta’s legacy living on in the next generation of deep-space missions,” adds Alain Herique of the University of Grenoble, Principal Investigator of Juventa’s JuRa low-frequency radar.
Juventas is being led for ESA by GomSpace company in Luxembourg with GMV in Romania, with its radar developed by the Planétologie et d'Astrophysique de Grenoble group at the University Grenoble and Technical University Dresden, with Astronika in Poland constructing the antennas and EmTroniX in Luxembourg contributing the signal generation system.
Hera will also be embarking a second deep space CubeSat, the Italian-led Milani, which will employ a multispectral imager to prospect the asteroid’s surface composition. Hera will be preceded to the Didymos asteroids by NASA’s DART spacecraft which will perform a test deflection of the smaller body. DART is due for launch next Wednesday, 24 November.

The Forest of Bowland, also known as the Bowland Fells, is an area of barren gritstone fells, deep valleys and peat moorland, mostly in north-east Lancashire, England. A small part lies in North Yorkshire, and much of the area was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. It has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) since 1964, and is used for grouse shooting, walking and cycling, though it is relatively unfrequented by tourists. One of the best known features of the area is Pendle Hill, which is separated from the main part of the Forest of Bowland AONB by the Ribble Valley.
13% of the AONB is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its important areas of heather moorland and blanket bog. The area is nationally and internationally important for its upland bird populations – the hen harrier is the symbol of the AONB. There are over 500 listed buildings and 18 scheduled monuments within the AONB.
The name 'forest' is used in its traditional sense of 'a royal hunting ground', and much of the land still belongs to the British Crown as part of the Duchy of Lancaster. In the past wild boar, deer, wolves, wild cats and game roamed the forest.

Bowland remains as the northwestern remainder of the ancient wilderness that once stretched over a huge part of England, encompassing the Forest of Bowland, Sherwood Forest (Nottinghamshire), the New Forest (Hampshire) and Savernake Forest (Wiltshire). While the Trough of Bowland (the valley and high pass connecting the Wyre (at Marshaw) and Langden Brook and dividing the upland core of Bowland into two main blocks) represents the area, to many, on account of its popularity, it is in fact only a small part of the wider Forest of Bowland area.
The hills on the western side of the Forest of Bowland attract walkers from Lancaster and the surrounding area. Overlooking Lancaster is Clougha Pike, the western-most hill. The hills form a large horseshoe shape with its open end facing west. Clockwise from Lancaster the hills are Clougha Pike (413 m), Grit Fell (468 m), Ward's Stone (561 m), Wolfhole Crag (527 m), White Hill (544 m), Whins Brow (476 m), Totridge (496 m), Parlick (432 m), Fair Snape Fell (510 m), Bleasdale Moor (429 m), and Hawthornthwaite fell (478 m).
The area is home to the geographic centre of Great Britain which is close to the Whitendale Hanging Stones, around 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Dunsop Bridge.
The Forest of Bowland is home to an annual challenge event: The Bowland Challenge where teams of walkers navigate around a series of grid references over a ten hour period. Proceeds of the event go to support Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team.

After a brief mushroom break, it's back to the fall spectacle which is very nearly at peak. And despite three days of relatively constant rain, your intrepid reporter continues to dash about between the drops to document the scene for you more than deserving contacts. However, this has unfortunately put a damper (finally a truly appropriate use of the word) on some of the local annual events scheduled for this weekend, those being the apple and cranberry festivals. The rain, combined with 50F (10C) temps and 20 mph winds has also no doubt discouraged less than hardy travelers who make the trip to the Northwoods to view the color changes. This has caused concern amongst the local merchants who depend on the tourist trade to keep their coffers filled. I was going to recommend that they call their Congressman to see if he might filibuster the weather patterns, but then remembered that he is one of those responsible for the government currently being closed (regardless of weather), and thus unavailable to take any calls.
Continuing with the series of from the HOBO Railroad / Winnepesauke Scenic Railroad's Pumpkin Express trains which ran out of the historic downtown Laconia depot for the first time since 2016. They were scheduled to run five short 5 mile and 45 minute round trips south among the scenic and almost never used (except by the rail bikes!) trackage along the shore of Lake Winnisquam as part of the New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival which hadn't been held since 2019. This of course is the another section of the famed former Boston, Concord and Montreal Railroad later the Boston and Maine's White Mountain mainline to Wells River that is now owned by the state.
By any measure they were wildly successful and according to Jay they carried 1100 riders in total on the six trains, which is quite remarkable since the train only consisted of three demotored Budd RDCs pulled by the road's little SW1001, PLRR1590 blt. Nov. 1973 for the Reading as number 2618. After the RDG folded into Conrail she remained with that road for the entirety of its existence and then passed Norfolk Southern in 1999 before being sold in 2011 having never received black paint. She spent another decade and a half as a lease unit until coming to the Granite State in 2016. She remained in her CIT blue paint until finally receiving PLRR maroon in 2021.
The 3 PM train I shot here was supposed to be the final run of the day but just before I left some local folks told me that since every train was sold to capacity and more people wanted a ride they decided to do a 6th run af 4 Pam. Since this is arguably THE signature shot in town and the one extra hour dramatically improved the light I decided on a second take of this classic broadside from the Fair Street bridge.
Here is 1590 leading the three car train south across the 240 ft long deck girder bridge over Jewett Brook at MP 27.2 (from Concord) just south the Laconia Depot and north of the Fair Street crossing. Jewett Brooks curls through the center of own and connects Opechee Bay and Lake Winnisquam. As for the history of the train itself, the three Budd RDCs are named Winisquam, Winona, and Winnepesauke in honor of three of the lakes the railroad passes alongside and are numbered 6921, 6105, and 9159 respectively.
6921 was built in 1956 as a 94-seat RDC-9 which was a powered trailer only with no control cab on either end. 6105 was built in 1953 as a 90-seat RDC-1. Both are original Boston and Maine cars (out of a fleet of 109 the road acquired) and they may very well have run here prior to 1965. 9159 was built in 1962 for the Reading (which had a small fleet of only 12 cars) as an RDC-1. All three cars ended their revenue lives as non powered trailers on the MBTA commuter rail system.

Synopsis
Kei Kitami # who is aiming for a university # meets Kaori Uemura # an event companion who is 6 years older than her on SNS.
Kaori's dream of coming to Tokyo is to become friends with famous artists.
For that purpose # the presence of radio station producer Ryo Osawa was necessary.
Osawa talks to Kaori during the live radio broadcast.

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Aeromar Lineas Aereas Dominicanas was founded in 1998 to provide scheduled services to Santo Domingo after the demise of Dominicana. This 727 was wet leased from Falcon Air Express.
A Scheduled Ancient Monument and probably the oldest bridge to cross the River Stour is reputedly also the oldest bridge in Dorset, but who knows!
What is known are references to the building of "A Bridge on the River Stour adjacent to the White Mill" in the year 1175 and that during an investigation of the foundations on which it stands, there are timber pilings which have been carbon dated to the twelfth century. There is also a record from 1341 showing three shillings bequeathed for bridge repairs.
The basic construction of what you see here, somewhat updated by the Victorians and again repaired in more recent times, probably dates from the 16th century.
Scheduled for launch in late 2015, ESA’s LISA Pathfinder will test key technologies for space-based observation of gravitational waves – ripples in the fabric of spacetime that are predicted by Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity. Produced by massive accelerating bodies, these perturbations are expected to be abundant across the Universe, but they are yet to be detected directly.
Although not aiming at detecting gravitational waves, LISA Pathfinder will test the approach that could be used for this daunting endeavour. In particular, the goal is to achieve the best free-fall ever, reducing all the non-gravitational forces acting on two test masses and controlling any residual effect with unprecedented accuracy.
LISA Pathfinder will operate from a special location in the Sun–Earth system: the Lagrange point L1, 1.5 million km from Earth towards the Sun. After launch, it will take the spacecraft about eight weeks to cruise towards its operational orbit around L1.
First, it will lift off on a Vega rocket from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, as shown in the left frame of this illustrated sequence. The Vega rocket, which is specially designed to take small payloads into low Earth orbit, will place LISA Pathfinder into an elliptical orbit.
The upper right frame shows the spacecraft riding the final stage of the Vega rocket, while the fairing is being released.
After the final stage of the Vega rocket is jettisoned, LISA Pathfinder will continue on its own, as shown in the lower right frame of the sequence. During this phase, the spacecraft will use its separable propulsion module to perform six manoeuvres, gradually raising the apogee of the initial orbit.
Eventually, LISA Pathfinder will cruise towards its final orbiting location, discarding the propulsion system along the way, one month after the last burn. Once orbiting L1, LISA Pathfinder will begin six months of demonstrating the technology for future gravitational-wave observatories in space.

In the early 90's the Central Vermont's schedule was great for catching daylight trains in the Bellows Falls area. Northbound train 323 was usually into town between 6 and 8 am and the southbound counterpart 324 was down in late afternoon. I would take advantage of this in the summer, heading out before and after work to try to get some shots, especially with the CV's days being numbered. This particular Saturday I was caught a little off guard. Leased Conrail power was pretty common at this point, but the trailing Alaska didn't catch my attention until after I took the picture. It was dead in tow and headed for Saint Albans I think, I'm sure that TC knows the whole story.

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

SPECIAL TO FLORIDA WEEKLY
The Palm Beach County Cultural Council, the official arts agency serving non-profit cultural organizations and professional artists throughout the county, has announced the schedule for its grand opening week in the council’s new home in downtown Lake Worth.
In December 2011, the council moved into the historic Robert M. Montgomery Jr. Building at 601 Lake Ave. The building first opened in 1940 as the Lake Worth Theater and later housed three different art museums, but has been closed to the public since 2005.
Scheduled to reopen to the public on Jan. 19 2012, the newly renovated building will serve as the cultural council’s headquarters. The building’s 11,000 square feet will include galleries for community exhibitions, an artist resource center, tourism services, education and training facilities, as well as meeting space.
“It is critically important for the umbrella organization for art and culture in Palm Beach County to have a hub,” Cultural Council Board Chairman Michael J. Bracci said in a written statement. “The building will help people understand the importance of art and culture to our quality of life. It provides a place for the cultural community as well as our residents and visitors to gather and find information. It is also vitally important to the strategic goals of the cultural council. We couldn’t be more pleased.”
Named after the late Robert M. Montgomery Jr., a prominent attorney and philanthropist, the building was renovated with assistance from the Lake Worth Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), which committed $700,000 for the project. The CRA’s grant is part of its larger Cultural Renaissance Program, focusing on redevelopment through the establishment of artists, cultural centers and institutes within Lake Worth, while expanding the economic base and improving the investment image of the area.
When the Montgomery family donated the classic building to the cultural council in January 2010, it was the largest single donation in the council’s 33-year history.
“I am extremely proud to make this gift in honor of Bob’s memory, and the legacy he built in the legal, cultural and philanthropic communities,” said Mary Montgomery, when she donated the building last January. “Giving this historic building to the cultural council will strengthen Bob’s vision of a healthy cultural foundation developing better students, better citizens and a better community.”

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Following an extreme cold snap that caused temperatures drop to their lowest levels in 25 years, many Chicago area companies had to adjust service schedules after having cancelled pickups on both Wednesday and Thursday of that week. Groot Industries' Elgin, Illinois location cancelled pickup for its Wednesday residential customers entirely, and picked up its Thursday and Friday routes each a day late.

This is one of 5 Pythons currently being run by Groot Industries, a Waste Connections company, that were acquired following an asset swap with Republic Services that took place in 2017. There are multiple spots on the unit where you can see some Republic Blue bleeding through. This is the only Python mounted on an Autocar; the other Pythons are all mounted on Mack LEUs.
