The World's First Iron Bridge
A cast iron arch bridge that crosses the River Severn.
Opened in 1781, it was the first major bridge in the world to be made of cast iron. Its success inspired the widespread use of cast iron as a structural material, and today the bridge is celebrated as a symbol of the Industrial Revolution.
In 1934 the bridge was designated a scheduled monument and closed to vehicular traffic.
Grade I Listed.
Recent Changes Camp is loosely structured. The times and places are opened up and anybody with something to discuss can tape something in.

We took these photos at NAF El Centro the day before the annual airshow. This was the final practice for the Blue Angels before their 2024 schedule started so they looked sharp. This was a great performance that left our ears ringing and necks sore, but it was worth it!
We took these photos in early March 2024 in El Centro, CA.

What was scheduled to be a training exercise for Camp Guernsey Firefighters and a Wyoming Army National Guard UH 60 Black Hawk helicopter crew, switched gears into a real-world firefighting effort, May 8. The firefighters planned to conduct a controlled burn on the north training area and the helicopter crew was going to practice water bucket drops by dipping water out of Guernsey State Park, flying it to the fire and dropping it on the target. Plans changed when lightning struck a tree early that morning in a remote area of the training center and the CGFD was called to respond. The helicopter crew got the message and responded to the new location and made five bucket drops helping the ground crew contain the blaze to about one acre. Pevensey Castle is a medieval castle and former Roman Saxon Shore fort at Pevensey in the English county of East Sussex. The site is a Scheduled Monument in the care of English Heritage and is open to visitors. Built around 290 AD and known to the Romans as Anderitum, the fort appears to have been the base for a fleet called the Classis Anderidaensis. The reasons for its construction are unclear; long thought to have been part of a Roman defensive system to guard the British and Gallic coasts against Saxon pirates, it has more recently been suggested that Anderitum and the other Saxon Shore forts were built by a usurper in an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to prevent Rome from reimposing its control over Britain.
Anderitum fell into ruin following the end of the Roman occupation but was reoccupied in 1066 by the Normans, for whom it became a key strategic bulwark. A stone keep and fortification was built within the Roman walls and faced several sieges. Although its garrison was twice starved into surrender, it was never successfully stormed. The castle was occupied more or less continuously until the 16th century, apart from a possible break in the early 13th century when it was slighted. It had been abandoned again by the late 16th century and remained a crumbling, partly overgrown ruin until it was acquired by the state in 1925.
Pevensey Castle was reoccupied between 1940 and 1945, during the Second World War, when it was garrisoned by units from the Home Guard, the British and Canadian armies and the United States Army Air Corps. Machine-gun posts were built into the Roman and medieval walls to control the flat land around Pevensey and guard against the threat of a German invasion. They were left in place after the war and can still be seen today. Pevensey is one of many Norman castles built around the south of England.

The 2012 Democratic National Convention, in which delegates of the Democratic Party will choose the party's nominees for President and Vice President in the 2012 United States national election, is scheduled to be held during the week of September 3, 2012[5][6] in Charlotte, North Carolina.
On April 3, 2012, President Barack Obama won the Maryland and District of Columbia primaries, giving him more than the required 2,778 delegates to secure the presidential nomination.[7] He had previously announced that Vice President Joe Biden would be his vice presidential running mate in his re-election bid.[8]
The first two days of the convention will be held at the Time Warner Cable Arena. The last night, September 6, will be held at Bank of America Stadium, where presumptive presidential nominee Barack Obama is expected to deliver his acceptance speech.[2] The date also caused the National Football League to move the Kickoff game, normally on a Thursday, to Wednesday, September 5, to avoid a conflict.[17] This in turn caused the DNC to move Joe Biden's vice presidential acceptance speech, normally held the day before the presidential acceptance speech, to Thursday, before Obama's speech, to avoid a conflict with the NFL game.[18]

An orthodontic appointment scheduled for today gave Max a big surprise...he got his temporary braces off! Only being on his top four adult teeth, they've been on since August.
Before then, he's had baby teeth removed, an expander attached to his top jaw for 7 months so I'd say he's happy for a rest!
A retainer has been moulded and he'll have that to keep everything in place until all his adult teeth come down and re-assessed.
This is a before photo :)
