Foz do Iguazu is the Niagara Falls of South America shared by Brasil, Argentina and Paraguay and an important world destination. There are some fine hotels including the Hotel Das Cataratas, pictured here.

Fisherman’s Wharf, which has been the home of San Francisco’s colorful fishing fleet for nearly a century and a quarter, is world famous for its wide variety of seafood. Much of this fame is due to the annual harvest of that most delectable of all crustaceans, the Dungeness crab of San Francisco.

The Presidio of San Francisco was founded by Spain, taken over by Mexico, usurped by the Republic of California and finally became a U.S. Army base. Eventually, in the 1980s it was decommissioned and the gates were opened to the public.

Not far from Belo Horizonte is the wonderous cavern of Gruta da Lapinha. Inside the cave are interesting geological formations.
