This bus was bought by Metrobus for routes 54/75, and once they were lost to Stagecoach it moved to Blue Triangle for school contracts. A handful of them have appeared at Sutton, probably covering for refurbishments.

Fleet number 873 is a Scania N230UD with Optare Olympus bodywork and it looks very similar to Sutton's ADL Trident based DOE class. Sutton Garage has not run Scanias before and they seem quite routebound on the 213, where a bus can quickly be swapped if a driver who is not type trained gets the bus. It will be interesting to see if they return to River Road for school services in a week or so as the loss of route 64 will have thrown up some PVL's that could now possibly be used in either location.

Another rail replacement shot from Easter weekend. This Scania N94UD with East Lancs Omnidekka bodywork was formerly owned by Metrobus/London General and it last operated in London service on route 202 on 1st October 2015. It has been sold to Howards Travel Group in Runcorn and made the long journey back to London for rail replacement work between Clapham Junction and Barnes on behalf of South West Trains.

7845 is a Volvo B12M Jonckheere and was previously register CT10 OUG. The Vectis Blue coaches are Van Hools which the drivers love as they have a manual gearbox and 1152 is a Scania N270UD OmniCity

In other SV news Vectis Blue '02 reg school coaches 7034, 7035 and 7040 were originally withdrawn on 19th March however 7035, 7036 and 7040 returned to school services when the blue enviros moved over to the public network

This bus is a Scania K400IB6x2NB. That complicated designation works like this:

K represents the mounting of the engine. The K series has a longitudinally, straight-up mounted engine at the rear and is more commonly used as a coach application. This compares to the low floor N series, which has a straight-up, transversely mounted engine and is more commonly applied to local bus chassis.

400 is the model number.

I represents the type of transport the bus was built for - intercity, short to long distance, normal comfort.

B is the chassis adaption, meaning a normal bus.

6 x 2 is the wheel configuration, a tri-axle.

N is for the chassis height, meaning normal front and rear.

B is for the air suspension, and represents a rigid front axle (as opposed to an I which would represent independent front suspension.)

It is built with a Castrosua Magnus.E body and is seen on route 33 heading towards Puerto De Mogan.

Working well away from its normal territory, Go South Coast 1506 was operating a South West Trains rail replacement between Clapham Junction and Barnes yesterday. Branded for Bournemouth University services, this is an ADL Enviro 400 bodied Scania N230UD.

The last East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N230UD's standing - or at least they probably will be! The batch built in 2007 (the last of the type delivered to London if I am correct) are having, what seems to be, a very slow refurbishment. This one re-appeared in April, after being withdrawn in November, but not many seem to have returned yet and the route is still operating with a mix of vehicle types. I rode on sister vehicle 948, and the refurbishment certainly has not got rid of the famous East Lancs rattles!

It is pictured about to pull into Redhill Bus Station.

On the inside 1128 still has its branding for Bluestar route 2. I wonder why the adverts are larger on the right than they are the left.

I went from 1511 on the 5 to 1128 on the 4 - so two very interesting rides

Today I went to the Festival of Transport at Havenstreet Steam Railway and was able to capture train 483 007 at its new home and the bus museum had 2 buses on display and there was a modern coach in the car park. Then I went to West Wight and got a few more pics of 1403 - all photos coming soon!

1145 was new to Southern Vectis in 2009 and operated almost every route. Along with all other '58 reg Scania's, 1145 was one of a few '09 reg buses to leave the island in 2018 for a sister company however 1145 was the only one which went to Salisbury Reds with the others going to Bluestar, Damory and Morebus. In the Summer of 2020 1145 returned 'home' to the island for school duplicate services but was only repainted back into SV green a few weeks ago before making her first appearance in the new coat of green on 12th May 2021.

1145 is the only Scania in the fleet with the old seat fabric and the only green double-decker not to have next stop announcements. Also all of the double-deckers now have a similar AA breakdown advert

This bus is a Scania N94UB with Castrosua CS.40 City II bodywork that was new in 2002. The Scania/Castrosua combination is the most common in this fleet.

New in March 2008, this Scania N230UB Omnicity is in a dedicated livery for route 100.

Docklands Buses inherited the Scania N230UD Omnicities that were made surplus from route 64 in Croydon. They are all still carrying their previous Metrobus branding, and are usually on route D8. However, drifts to route D7 appear to be quite common and fleet number 968 is seen on the route at Canary Wharf.

The other Scania single decker is 2004 HF58 HTK which has recently been transferred from Bluestar. It was last used by Plymotuh Citybus on loan and has been repainted into Southern Vectis fleet livery. 2004 is currently in the depot and hasn't entered service yet

The Downs Breezer and the Shanklin Shuttle return from May 29th - I wonder what bus will be used on the shuttle. Also the Island Line rail replacement timetable increases to every half hour from may

A brief history of the bus in the picture 2007: This bus was new for Uni-Link in Southampton also part of Go South Coast with 2 doors before being converted to single door layout and transfer to Morebus. After a few years it went on loan to various GSC companies including SV before being repainted green at the start of 2019

Abellio Surrey made many changes on 31/12/16 that led to changes to some of their commercial routes and their withdrawal from several Surrey County contracts. This has led to some variety in KIngston as other operators have stepped into Abellio's shoes on a few routes.

Route 458, which runs from Staines to Kingston via Shepperton, Walton, Hersham and Esher, has been taken over by Rotala subsidiary Hallmark Connections. This company mainly operates contracts for Heathrow Airport. This Scania N230UB Omnicity has been branded for the service but without a lot of effort - stickers have been applied to the livery it wore when it operated for sister company Wessex Connect.

Route 267 usually runs with East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N94UD`s but newer Scania N230UD Omnicities do also appear. SP106 of the latter class is seen here in Hammersmith Bus Station.

Route 64 has quite a mix of buses allocated to it lately, adding variety to its last few months with Go-Ahead London before the route hands over to Arriva London South in August.

This East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N94UD was previously allocated to Orpington Garage. According to LVF it disappeared from there on 30th June 2014 and re-emerged in Croydon Garage five months later on 25th November 2014. I wonder if it had been involved in a major accident or something.

One of the main bus termini in Las Palmas is the bus station near to the Port. Waiting to head off on a journey on route 2 is fleet number 513, a Scania N94UB with Castrosua CS40 City II bodywork. This bus dates from 1999. Behind it is newer 671 for route 47. This is a MAN NL283F with Castrosua City Versus bodywork that dates from 2012.
