I love the roll-on perfume oils from Auric Blends - I find a new fragrance to try and (usually) love every time I place an order. I don't know why I thought their incense would be anything less than exquisite, but I purchased some for the first time with my most recent order. I made a safe choice for this maiden voyage with Sandalwood, but now I'm psyched to try all the fragrances! It's good stuff, and I'm barely even a hippie!

What's for dinner? Well, I know you didn't ask, but its quiche with bacon and mushrooms and a green salad with lots'o cheese. Kunde Sauvignon Blanc for the win. Actually, this is a test to see if I can handle the depth of field from a low angle. The lens handled it reasonably well, so I'll go back to finish the bottle while it's still cool.

This didn't actually need a lot of thought - Relax and enjoy the moment :-) This sparkling Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand should be just perfect.

The most salient characteristic of sauvignon blanc is its distinctive, penetrating aroma, which can evoke scents of grapefruit, lime, green melon, gooseberry, passion fruit, freshly mown grass, and bell pepper. Grown in cooler climates and in fertile soils promoting excessive vine growth, herbaceous smells and flavors can dominate the character of the wine, while in warmer regions, the melon, citrus and passion fruit aromas and flavors emerge.

Envelhecido em tanques de aço inoxidável por 3 meses nas borras.
13% vol.
Amarelo palha mediano, com cor vibrante na taça e apresentando sedimentos. Ao nariz, frescor de frutas cítricas – maracujá, abacaxi e uma carambola doce maravilhosa.
No palato, vinho muitíssimo agradável de apreciar na temperatura da minha cidade, Salvador. Boa mineralidade, acidez em sintonia
Como um autêntico e legítimo soteropolitano, esta moqueca foi feita apimentada no capricho e eu ainda adicionei mais. E o vinho se comportou divinamente bem
Por uma falha da minha parte, não adicionei a salada de acerola que acompanhou o prato, que também em nada fez afastar a harmonia com o este belíssimo Sancerre.

I feel I have earned every cent in my paypacket this week...crazy, crazy couple of weeks.
...and some crazy careless mistakes made.....Like driving into the back of a 4WD at a 'turn left anytime with care' intersection!!!! I took no care at all !!
But on a positive note....my flight for my overseas holiday in August/ September to France and the UK is now booked and paid for! Hooray!!!

Having spent a good part of the afternoon driving around Marin and fighting the fleet week crowds to get anywhere we decided to hit the coast in San Francisco and get a light lunch at Cliff House. It's been a while since I was there but the memory was that you could still get a reasonable bowl of clam chowder or something like that.
It turns out it's gone much more upscale than I knew. We were given a menu before we were seated to make sure we didn't have any misconceptions about what we were getting into (a little condescending I must say).
Anyways, the food was actually terrific and not quite as costly as I'd expected particularly with the amazing views.
Going clockwise you've got a cheeseburger with white cheddar and applewood smoked bacon, served with a side of truffled frites (fantastic!). A Pint of Anchor Steam. A bowl of Heirloom tomato soup, with basil out and crostini with Point Reyes Blue cheese (fantastic!). And a glass of Mendocino Sauvignon Blanc.
Definitely an experience worth taking in for a periodic bit of self-endulgance.
