Tom is demonstrating how to wear eye and ear protection. Unfortunately, he believes the idea of "protection" means we can't hear or see him. . . but we can.
The crew member is attached to the lander to ensure safety...and, of course, his support diver, Nate, is always around to make sure things are running smoothly.

The turntable sat quite on this slow afternoon at the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona PA. It was a shame that we couldn't access certain parts of the roundhouse where some nice motive power is stored, but I guess maybe next time.

Spent the day in my dye "studio" (read: backyard) creating self-striping sock yarn. Like my getup?
I take dyeing safety seriously. I always wear safety goggles, a particle mask, & nitrile gloves when preparing my dyestocks; I am planning to upgrade from to a simple respirator soon.
I am *appalled* that some people mix dye powders in their kitchens. I don't care HOW careful you are, some gets loose. Tsk, tsk.
