The ship was built in 1952 in Poland and a large part of its life serviced in the Soviet Navy as the “Fort Shevchenko”, until 1999 when it was sold and renamed “La Famille Express”. The circumstances of the wreck are not clearly known, except for that it ran aground during the Hurricane Frances in 2004. Nobody salvaged the ship so far and many parts fell prey to looters. Right now, the ship is a great local landmark attraction tourists coming to Turks and Caicos.

This building succumbed to old age a few years back. Here is how it looked while it was still standing:
Efficient in terms of use of space, to be sure, but I've never been on a sidewalk and thought to myself, "There's no way pedestrians haven't died here."
In November 2005, I took an AMTRAK Train from Tampa Union Station in Florida to Hamlet, North, Carolina to attend a Summer Convention of the ACL/SAL Historical Society in and around the Hamlet Area Hamlet Metro Area, One of the sites we visited was CSX Hump Classification Yard Hamlet.
Tower Mailing Address: 127 CSX Drive, Marks Creek, NC 28345"
This Yard is relies on Gravity, a Ladder of Switches and Speed Retarders to assemble trains destined for all parts of the US and Canada on an assortment of tracks, one track for each destination. or Intermediate Yard.In addition to the Posters & Signs, a no longer used caboose, now serves as a place for Safety Classes and Safety Signs.
These particular photographs show some of the Safety Alerting Signs all over the CSX Yard.
SAFETY is a BIG Concern in the Railroad Industry and Yards are particularly dangerous, not only due of all the traffic, but also particularly Coupling & Uncoupling Railcars, Trowing Switches, Checking the Bills of Lading for the contents being shipped, limited space, minimal Lines of Sight, setting & releasing Hand Brakes, etc. Lack of Attention, can be Fatal ! Consequently there are numerous Safety Signs, Classes, and Accident Tracking Billboards !
I found this Canadian National Caboose in CSX Prairie Rail Yard, Mulberry Florida near Prairie Mine Road, which intersects with Florida State Road 60.
Unfortunately, I didn't keep adequate Notes and so far my internet search hasn't helped very much in trying to identify this caboose.
According to Jeremy MacPearson, this is a former CN Superintendent's car.

A couple years ago, I worked on a music video with some friends. Unfortunately, the band broke up shortly before the video ever saw the light of day, but it was still a great weekend. I recently went back and re-edited some of my photos from behind-the-scenes.
One of the yellow poles at the Auburn Maine Wal-Mart a fix. New concrete, a light up stop sign to remind people to stop and look before moving. Also, they added to small concrete barriers. Too many people hit the poles.

Now as we have previously seen falling is a distinct and ever present danger to this, our evening endeavours. Not for us of course. Our constantly fleeing prey do however have a penchant for stumbles, tumbles and falling flat on their faces. We will always avoid that moment of embarrassment as we do something that they do not.
We prepare.
Now look at what we're doing here. We've chosen a sensible pair of footwear. Steel toe-capped if possible but not necessary. At least ankle high for support. And last, but also most importantly, we ensure the laces are securely tied. There is no need for anything of a sporty nature as we do not have to move that fast. We go for durability and crushing power.
Now that we're ready. We...uh...we...where'd they go? Hold on. Shhh for a moment. If we stand here for a little longer. You need to train your ear for the right sounds. Is that? Yes. I hear it. Just in the distance. That's the sound of someone on flat ground falling over nothing.
Now, let's get this finished.
I was thinking that after the purchase of rubber boots that will be enough for my outdoor gear … not .. now I'm looking for inexpensive underwater camera enclosure but I should carry climbing gear or at least good rope . When I was looking down the water fall I was thinking ...if I slip - I'm so f…. but I got couple of shots that I wanted .
I'm looking forward to some day-trips as the days are getting longer.
There is couple of holes , they are created by smaller rocks being cough in the softer part of bedrock where they are being span by water of the falls .
See where this picture was taken, Kanaka Falls , Maple Ridge , BC [?]
When I first wanted heels .....these where the rage...then some facts about pounds per square inch and the weight of the person wearing them came out ..my dad had just bought my mom new flooring and none of us girls were allowed to buy them......which was probably a life saving thing ..we probably would have broken our legs and destroyed moms floors.....

KCS Train MSZSH-23 rolled through Houston, Texas this morning with KCS 4859, the Safety First / Safety Starts Here specially painted unit leading six other locomotives. The other locomotives include KCS 4005, KCS 4119, KCSM 4675, KCS 4128, KCS 4847, and KCSM 4099. The train was a large one, with 157 cars, 11,412 Feet.
This shot is the train taking the connecting track to the UP East Belt Sub.
I took these two Photographs when everyone was returning to their Motor Cars in order to continue our Journey East to Mount Vernon.
Notice the two handles sticking out of the front of the Rail Car. These handles can be slid front to rear through the car. When extended out from the car, they provide Leverage for Lifting the Front or Rear of the Car. Using these Handles, you can lift the Front or Rear to maneuver the car onto the tracks. This is usually done at a grade crossing to minimize the effort need to Set the Car onto the Track. Some cars have Turntables underneath with electric motors to lift the car, greatly reducing the physical work required to set the car onto the track.
The Depot now belongs to the Telfair Museum of History, which is located at 8 Sixth Street, McRae-Helena, Georgia 31037. The Museum Telephone Number is: (229) 868-7114.
On April 22, 2006, I rode a Speeder from Pitts to Mt. Vernon, Georgia on a trip sponsored by NARCOA (aka North American Rail Car Owners Association). Since I don't own a Motor Car (aka a Speeder) , I rode with my friend Bill, who owns two Motor Cars. These are some photos of Water Towers that I saw during my trip on the Heart of Georgia Railroad. We started our trip from Pitts and traveled East, passing through the towns of Glenwood, Alamo, Helena, Milan, Rhine,
