I took this Photograph just before we were ready to leave Alamo, Georgia on our Journey East towards Mount Vernon, Georgia. This Photograph shows the NARCOA Speeders Parked at the back end of our Group.
On April 22, 2006, I rode a Speeder from Pitts to Mt. Vernon, Georgia on a trip sponsored by NARCOA (aka North American Rail Car Owners Association). Since I don't own a Motor Car (aka a Speeder) , I rode with my friend Bill, who owns two Motor Cars. These are some photos of Water Towers that I saw during my trip on the Heart of Georgia Railroad. We started our trip from Pitts and traveled East, passing through the towns of Glenwood, Alamo, Helena, Milan, Rhine,
This poor tree was very much alive last May. Now, it has died from something. Mike thought perhaps all the caterpillars we had last year and the neighbour thought it might be Dutch Elm disease. Either way it's a shame it died but it will have to come down as it overhangs on their roof.
I want to thank each and everyone in advance who took the time to visit my little space here on Flickr.

Safety first! Always be careful while eating near paint chips! A old breakroom seen in the abandoned ruins of the Anchor Hocking / Anchor Glass Container factory in South Connellsville, PA.
Beards are trendy nowadays. Men often prefer to grow a beard or to shave once or twice a week to get a rugged, brutal look. The same is true for electric bulbs, at least, for some of them. For example, this one evidently needs a good shave. This bulb shines bright but has a very dim notion about industrial safety. Surreal real life. Crazy mad world of common things.

It was a Friday, an evening at the track that we built with our own resources in a batch unusable by the city of Passira-PE, Brazil, which was later destroyed by the same man who had earlier ceded the land and promised full support to works the same.
The sun gave its last rays of the day, illuminating the lily cottony clouds floating there. In the scene, in the background, my brother, Abner Santana, waiting their turn to jump as he watched Paulo "Speed", a barber completely passionate about bikes, stealing time between a haircut and another, taking off with style in your Honda NXR Bros 125cc, with shorts, Fluminense shirt, Havaianas sandals on his feet, helmet color pink for small and medium impacts, and, of course, your Casio watch, essential not to lose time. The rush and excitement to feel flying once again in the short time we have free safety did put in the background, and seeing the magic of a hardworking man who rejoices as a boy, I took the last one Silver Lining light that was there to record it (with manual focus), illuminated in the sky, a star, a bird, a child.

a bike rider waiting for a green red light at Normanby (Queensland) on his way to the gym.
he may be dressed for the gym and not seemingly dressed appropriately for safety on his bike.
Mike is a licenced carpenter by trade. He is busy trying to get some odd jobs done around the house before he gets his knee replacement on January 20th (happy day after his birthday present - a new knee). He makes sure it is safety first always and he had his safetly glasses on so I told him I wanted a photo for my 365. He actually obiigied and did not give me the three finger salute LOL.

A string of Chicago Northwestern cabooses sit on a siding somewhere North of Springfield, Illinois.
(Using Google maps, it appears this is Barr, IL. I recall a grain elevator with a siding)
These were along the highway on our way home from the Illinois State Fair. They all ended up going south in small groups to a scrap yard in East St. Louis on trains with the cabooses right behind the locomotives. This photo was taken my my Disc camera and scanned.
A bit of a commotion broke out at Maam Cross horse fair when a bonham (piglet) escaped and ran through the fair, leaving considerable consternation in its wake! Some time later this man emerged through the crowd, triumphant, as you can see, having chased and re captured the unfortunate bolter! Anyway, he caught the piglet, and I caught him bringing home the bacon, in a manner of speaking, and so a great day was had by all!

This was the most crazy show I've ever been too. Over 1,000 people at an illegal house show in West Oakland. People were jumping off that roof into the crowd, those two cars on the right got flattened and when the line of ten cop cars pulled up at 2:20am they were bombarded by kids lined up against that GATS sign hurling 40s at them. I'll never forget that crash, crash, thwat sound of bottles hitting police cars.
This photo is from before it got really crazy. When Japanther played, there was a huge projection of people dancing on the wall above them that we later realized was the police shining a spot light on the roof.
We saw people helping people of the roof the NEXT morning and people were found scattered about the neighborhood asleep in peoples backyards at 10am. The whole block was crushed with graffiti.

Rafting is popular in Jasper National Park. The outfitter managing this group made it fun but a serious business - the participants were dressed in wet suits and lifejackets, and they spent a considerable amount of time on shore orienting everyone to safety rules. Once they carried the boats to the water's edge, more practice was done with paddling commands, team work, and seating. It was a good thing too as no sooner did one group practice getting in while still on shore, that one of the crew was bounced right out of the boat when someone sat behind them.
I was interested in what they were doing and one of the instructors was kind enough to let me photograph them when I promised that I would send him copies of the pictures. The next day, we were unable to leave due to a heavy snowfall that closed pretty well everything.
