Day 127 of 365 - July 9th, 2012

I was asked to take a picture of this display from our Safety Department at my place of work. Our Human Resources and Safety departments are very good at promoting safety inside the workplace as well as at home. I decided to make this photo my picture for today as a tribute to the victims of drunk driving. If you have not been touched directly by drunk driving, you probably know someone who has.

Citing the alarming rise in construction related deaths (in the last two years, 30 construction workers have been killed while on the job), hundreds of hardhat construction workers, along with elected officials and community leaders, gathered near New York City Hall on January 18, 2017, to demand the City Council to pass the Construction Safety Act, a series of bills that will provide for true professional training to improve the safety of all construction workers and the general public. Dozens of hardhat construction workers engaged on peaceful civil disobedience leading to multiple arrests.
