Have you always wanted an open plan house, but been worried about security? Well now you needn't be as KWK Promes has a solution.

At the flick of a switch, this Safe House as it's called transforms into an impenetrable cube. The walls close, a shutter comes down and the drawbridge to the indoor pool rises.

This is perhaps a little over the top, but cool nonetheless.

I like this one because of the circumstance: this little girl was smart enough to wait until the pond froze before falling from the tree.

She's safe until spring.

Safe I picked up today, literally, ouch. Its a sentry safe but you will not find any videos of this one on youtube being thrown up against a CMU wall. I'd guess its a stout 250 pounds, and the lady who I picked it up from said that it is at least 50 years old. Gotta love craigslist .

182 Seaton Street in Toronto's Cabbagetown was originally the home of John Taylor, a wealthy

safe manufacturer and his wife Maria Crerar from Montreal. John

and his brother James were immigrants from England and made

the first safes in Canada. Their business was called the JJ Taylor

Safe Company and later the Toronto Safe Company. Brother James

eventually returned to England due to ill health. Taylor’s Wharf

Lane in Old Town Toronto was named after the Taylors. This was

the location of their factory until 1959.

Somewhere along the rail yards we found a lot full of old rusting trucks and trailers containing various rusted items.

The ladder I had to climb to get to my tent. Many tents were on the roof of the church and was considered safer then sleeping inside the church, in case of another earthquake.
