As it is going to be a hot weekend, we will probably stay at home as the area will be full of tourists. We might get an early morning walk tomorrow along the coast if we get up in time. Anyway, we are off on holiday next weekend so there will lots of time to get out and about then. We are renting a cottage in Northumberland.
Happy Furry Friday everyone
Wishing you a safe and healthy weekend

I must be gone for a while. Stay well. Stay safe.
I took this picture in a gorgeous ELVION months ago. It was a night scene and, although I quite liked the composition, I wasn't very happy with the mood and it didn't really connect with anything that I wanted to explain. That is, until I had a clear idea of how to edit it. I transformed the cold dark tones of night into warm tones of a turbulent, post-apocalyptic dusk, when almost all hope is lost, one part of me feeling exactly like that. But at the very same time, another part of me would be represented by the horse grazing peacefully in the meadow, indifferent to the ominous sky threatening to fall over everybody's heads, perhaps because the plumed seeds of the dandelion were already commended with the wish for good things to happen. A wish that will never die.
(The beautiful cloud texture, dans les nuages, is by Lypho.)

The mercury reads 25 below celsius and i'm perched on top of the Wayne tunnel on BNSFs spectacular Laurel Sub. Running from Mossmain (Laurel) to Great Falls it only sees a handful of trains north of Walter Jct.
One regular is the LMON8661 or what crews dub the Lost Local, which runs once a week south to Moore on the Lewistown Sub and then back north to Great Falls the next day working customers along the way. Once on the other side of the tunnel the tracks head downhill into Armington located in a valley situated between the Highwood and Little Belt ranges. As the cold temperatures and snow wrecked havoc on the Montana Division, the train would only be running as far as Mocassin where the CMR interchange is located.
I've seen love come and
I've seen love walk away
So many questions
Will anybody stay?
It's been a hard year
So many nights in tears
All of the darkness
Trying to fight my fears
Alone, so long alone
I don't know who I'd be if I didn't know You
I'd probably fall off the edge
I don't know where I'd go if You ever let go
So keep me held in Your hands
You’re my safe place
My hide away
You’re my anchor
Lyrics from- Lauren Daigle - Thank God I Do
The mouth of the river Fowey has been guarded by the chapel of St. Saviour on the headland at Polruan since probably the 8th or 9th centuries. It was a prominent landmark for mariners at sea marking the entrance to the harbour. At night a beacon was lit in the tower. It also was a useful lookout point giving notice of approaching enemy ships. The original chapel was small, but possibly enlarged by Sir Richard Edgcumbe in 1488, to give thanks for the safe return of his ships after their voyage to Ireland. After 1572 it fell into disrepair following the dissolution of the monasteries. The Chapel is now an ancient monument, belonging to the people of Polruan, and preserved as an open space by the Town Trust.
Erected by Trinity House in 1832 ‘for the safety of commerce and the preservation of mariners’ the Gribbin Head daymark pinpoints the approach to Fowey’s narrow and rocky harbour entrance. At 26m tall and banded in red and white stripes, the tower stood out on the headland, ensuring that that sailors did not mistake the treacherous shallows of St Austell Bay for the deep waters of Falmouth harbour.
St Catherine’s Point Lighthouse is a short red cast iron circular tower lighthouse with a traditional light by the entrance to the Fowey estuary. Operated by the local Port Authority, the tower is 20 feet high and the light is visible for 15 miles.
This lone sailboat was anchored in Coffee Pot Bayou. Two dolphins swam by it before I could grab the shot from my kayak. I still like it, but would have liked it better with leaping dolphins.
