Recently during a business trip to Asia, I had the opportunity to visit a small fishing village near Xiaogui in the Guangdong, China providence.

We drove out from the modern industrial city to the to visit a most beautiful area on the coastline, where residents work in the fishing industry using both time honored ancient techniques and more modern (fishing fleet) approaches.

Many thanks to my "hosts" for the day for taking time away from their families, so that I could experience this part of the world for a short time. Thanks guys!

This image shows one of many "fishing platforms" in the bay where people from the mainland village can visit to go fishing, clamming, oystering in the bay, or simply have a meal of freshly prepared seafood. To get here, you take a water taxi out the platform.

We stayed for a few hours and had lunch! Best meal of the trip with friends.

ÖBB class 1144 locomotive removing SZ class 362 locomotive from train EC158 (Zagreb to Wien) at Spielfeld-Straß. The SZ locomotive brought the train in from Slovenia, and the ÖBB locomotive will take the train forward to Wien.
