Seen calling at Basingstoke with a service from London Waterloo down to somewhere in the West Country
005 was in the middle & 001 was on the rear
Proudly (?) showing off the new South Western Railway livery, 444040 sits at Portsmouth Harbour, prior to working the 1T34 09:59 'long way around' service to Waterloo. On a dull, gloomy day like today, this colour scheme looks - dull and gloomy.

This otherwise mundane record shot does show the differences between the Cl.455s. Although all built by BREL at York, the 455/7s have a different front end design to the 455/8s, and also include an ex Class 508 TSO which is clearly visible due to its different body profile.

As far as Pride liveries go, not much has been done here in comparison to the likes of Avanti's 390119 (aparrentley the interior is rainbow too!) but it is a smart and classy application, and is a decent effort when compared to the likes of Southern who simply altered their logos!
The clock is ticking for MK3 derived EMUs in London with 2021/2022 being a major year of withdrawals!
Sister Class 455s over at Southern Rail were whittled down until the final units were pulled from service in May 2022 whilst Greater Anglia also retired their Class 317 units last year as more Class 720s arrived and recentley, they withdrew the remaining Class 321 Renautus units meaning there are now only two types of MK3 derived EMUs still in service.
These are South Western Railway's retractioned Class 455s which for now, remain common on suburban services out of Waterloo and London North Western Railway's AC only Class 319 units which are restricted to a handfull of peak hour Milton Keynes services and will be withdrawn when the Class 730 enters service.
For now, enjoy them whilst you can as their days are numbered, 455863 is seen here at Wimbledon bound for London Waterloo.
