Incredibly this is actually something of a rarity. You'd expect these South Western Railway Class 450 'Desiro' units to be quite common into Weymouth, but apart from this solitary weekday working all services are operated by their 'big brother' the Class 444. In stunning early morning light 450118 works 2W26 07:25 Weymouth - Brockenhurst away from Upwey, the inward trip being 2W01 06:11 Bournemouth - Weymouth.

The 701 "Arterio" units haven't had the smoothest of journeys to say the least...

The first unit was handed over to SWR in 2020 and several problems have arose with these trains since including dangerous capacitor banks, build quality defects and software issues.

This type is set to replace Class 455, 458 and 707 units on SWR commuter services however none have actually entered service and this picture was taken at Waterloo with the unit being on test.

SWR 159101 crosses over Water Ditchhampton, Wilton. on the 11.20 London Waterloo to Exeter St Davids.

This service left Waterloo with 159101 and 159014, 014 was detached at Salisbury.

Seen calling at Basingstoke with a service from London Waterloo down to somewhere in the West Country
