If this switch were OFF, this photograph couldn't have been shot. [Well, given that there is no source of light in this room other than the lamp controlled by this switch.] In other words, [under given lighting constraint] it is impossible to have another picture of the same switch in the OFF position.

This was from earlier in the month when I was in Pt. Saint Lucie looking for a damned cactus I was never able to locate.
This is switching gear for a side rail. I converted it to B&W, increased the contrast, and blew out the grain.
I liked this old switch. See below for the dated list of patents that was stamped into the iron.
I have seen switches of this type still in use in some places, although there's a more modern type of manual switch that seems to be more common.

A crawler-transporter moves a mobile launcher platform with two solid rocket boosters perched on top from the Vehicle Assembly Building's (VAB) High Bay 1 to High Bay 3. Inside the VAB, the boosters are joined to an external fuel tank.

I insalled the switch here at the bottom of the fridge so if I or some else no longer wants to use it, they don't have to see it.
The girls are learning about batteries. In this activity, we've set up a circuit with a light bulb, battery, and switch. When the paper clip touches both of the metal brads on the paper, the light will go on. When the paper clip doesn't touch one of the brads, the light bulb goes off.
