AUV: The proximity switch is encapsulated within a stainless steel housing and Acetal cover. A polyurethane moulding is applied to the housing forming a pressure proof joint to the cable, the moulding being right angle or straight. The assembly is supplied as standard with 1 metre long cable tail, additional length being provided on request. The switch may take various forms to suit customer requirements. I decided to add a compressor to the engine as it shows clearly in the prototype photo I'm working from. Also- last winter I was making what I could from material on hand before making a purchase specifically for this engine, and this was a fun little project.
I scaled down the model shown in the New Shay book and simplified it a little. it mounts under the front corner of the cab on the left side of the engine.
Amtrak switcher 514, a GE Dash 8 from the early 1990's, busies itself forming a huge 30 car Auto-train at Sanford FL, on 9th March 2009. The Auto-train is Amtrak's take on the British motorail concept, and conveys passengers and their cars/suv's/bikes between Lorton VA, just to the south of Washington and Sanford, just to the north of Orlando, FL. Judging by the 19 car carriers and 11 passenger cars, it's pretty popular.

The engineer's view from the cab of a derelict Alco switcher.
This is one of several locomotives and pieces of rolling stock in Colonie, N.Y., that I guess someone hoped to save.
They look worse each time I see them.
This little locomotive is pretty well overgrown now. The upholstery on the engineer's seat is surprisingly intact, though.
Somewhere in the bylanes of jodhpur city after dark...

Was visiting Winterdeer/Korone this weekend and we had a chance to photograph some of our dolls together whose characters belong to the same stories uwu It was fun, even if the weather was kind of horrible for going outside and we had to have an indoor shoot haha. The big Dollshe guy is mine, the cute Switch is Winterdeer's.
Each Panel Sender had three sequence switches. One for timing, one for call progress and one only used on PCI call types (the short one).
This fames purpose was to connect Senders and District circuits during call setup in BCO 'Battery Cutoff Offices'.
When you don't have an open runaround track you have to use another engine to move the consist so the engine to be used can get to the other end and in the clear, sometimes called a saw-by move. Once F10 1502 is clear of the switch Adirondack Scenic RR RS-18u 1835 will couple onto the north end of the passenger train at Utica Union Station.
