Der 1989 von MAN gebaute Triebwagen 801 der Bremer Straßenbahn AG gilt als der erste Niederflur-Gelenktriebwagen in Deutschland. Er ist quasi der Urahn aller modernen Niederflurwagen.
Der Wagen hat für Testfahrten halb Europa bereist. 1991 standen Magdeburg, Berlin , Stockholm, Göteborg und Bonn auf dem Programm. 1992 Schwerin, Warschau, Krakau, Posen und Prag. 1993 war der Wagen in Amsterdam unterwegs.
Laut einem Bericht auf der Facebook Seite der Stadtwerke Bonn pendelte der Wagen am 26.04.1991 zwischen Beuel und Dottendorf.
Das Fahrzeug ist heute in Bremen museal erhalten.
