The mute swan (Cygnus olor) is a species of swan and a member of the waterfowl family Anatidae. It is native to much of Eurasia, and (as a rare winter visitor) the far north of Africa. The name 'mute' derives from it being less vocal than other swan species... wikipedia

The rugged Brule Range nicely reflects on the calm surface of Brule Lake as VIA Rail’s eastbound Canadian rolls through Robertson’s Curve at Swan Landing, Alberta, on the afternoon of July 7, 2014.

Swans and cygnets seen on our Winchester trip last year. Only just getting around to looking at some of these photos.
Mon chat Sacha, est malheureusement mort en Janvier de cette année, Swan à quatre mois, il est arrivé hier soir, il ne remplacera pas Sacha, mais il trouvera sa place chez nous, et je pense qu'il nous a déjà adopté :-)
Winter is coming the edges of the lake are icing up and the swans are migrating going south. Never seen so many trumpeters in the last few days ever here. Love their trumpeting voice. Isle Lake Alberta .
One last swan image, I am quite excited about this pair and hoping to be able to observe them with their family.
This is another shot from Grasmere Lake on a very still September evening. I wanted to capture the concentric circles around the Swan. I used HDR again from a single RAW image.

Swans are truly exceptionally graceful creatures, especially during their love-dance!!
This one unfolding here in my photos, took place one sunny and cold day just a few years ago, in the old city of Brugge, in northern Belgium—the Belgian Venice! I happened to wander in Brugge alone with my camera that lovely sunny day, when I saw them!! I was instantly captivated by this magical spectacle!! And started shooting non stop…
