"Pendennis Castle" crossing the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal on Falling Sands Viaduct at Kidderminster with a train from Bewdley.
One diagram was for a heritage diesel and today that honour was for 'Western' diesel-hydraulic D1062, which is a familiar locomotive for me since the Mixed Traction Gala at the West Somerset Railway: www.flickr.com/search/?w=41266938@N07&q=D1062 . Again at Eardington, the loco passes with another maroon Mark I rake in the direction of Kidderminster. Later that day, we enjoyed some 'clagging' and could enjoy the sound of this beast at full throttle when the loco passed us back towards Bridgnorth.

Cutting it fine; Blink of an eye and Guiness Book of Records immediately spring to mind!!
Well aware that the 6Z63 SVR - Doncaster Decoy was booked off Kidderminster at 10.28 and the consist was stabled overnight in Bewdley I made an early start from home anticipating the departure off Bewdley would be around 09.30 / 09.45hrs.
No such luck - after the decent early morning weather had vanished and after three l/e kettle moves off Bewdley - Kidderminster and a 'special' heading in the opposite direction it was after 10.15hrs when GBRf 66763 'Severn Valley Railway' came into view with the 6Z63 Bewdley - Doncaster Decoy.
To avoid missing its booked departure time off Kidderminster the 'Bluebird' (aptly named in this case) is seen at 'full bore' hammering past Devils Spittleful (Bewdley) on the approach to Foley Park Tunnel - never have I seen anything go so fast on the SVR before - surely a Land Speed Record for this stretch of line between Bewdley - Kidderminster. Woow!! Needless to say, it departed R/T from Kidderminster.
