Nigel Kennedy, Vivaldi - Winter I

another winter shot from wy yesterday walk - I found the "directions" of the ice on this branches really "funny" ... and beautiful!

have the best evening, you all :-)

thank you julian-galaad for the beautiful music :-)

Come by and see an epic display of artwork by artist Seduce starting this Saturday, July 9th! I was amazed when I first found his stream. The talent he has for details, composition, effects and most of all telling a story is awe inspiring! He has the ability to tell the story in one picture and this could be anything from history to movie favorites. No detail is left unfinished and many look like photographs or paintings from real life.

In his own words, "He loves creating stories inspired by films, books or reality, either in action, or subjective movies leading to what will come next and offering if possible emotions which mostly is the final key line in his search for creativity."

Be sure not to miss this special exhibit! It will be up until August 10.

This is an example of a photograph exposed for effect. It highlights the idea that a "correct exposure" is indeed a subjective one. It's the outcome that matters. Philosophically, the way we see the world depends entirely on how we want to see it.

Cosmologists are now seriously considering the idea that the universe is actually a "simulation". Even the renowned physicist Michio Kaku and Elon Musk have taken this position. Essentially (and that's a loaded word philosophically), the material nature of the universe is being called into serious question. Could we in fact be living inside an "imagined world"? And who is doing the imagining? The mind boggles.

Whenever people suffered the difficulty in real life, they either faced the challenge with courage or hided themselves in their secret garden temporarily, made their sophicated thoughts within, and then find way to breakthrough again.

Have you ever own your secret garden ? It could be a real place in the world , or just a mental place at your mind, which made yourself feel safe & help you calm down from the suddently sufferings in real life.

Try to create the secret garden through the overlayering composition, it can be a place mixed with variable emotions, happiness, sorrow, hate, sadness, peaceful etc, not necesarry a subjective garden in vision, maybe just a private corner under the tree, on the meadow, or even the space between the leaves & air.. tell me how you think about your secret garden.

The Churnet Valley is full of undiscovered gems. This is a lovely waterfall in Crowgutter Wood near to where I live, not many people go, I'm almost always alone when I go there. I've looked at this waterfall many times from above, you can't really get a photo from above and I'd thought about going to the bottom many times but it's either been too overgrown in summer or it's been to muddy/slippery in the winter but this time I took a rope and made it to the bottom - and back!

I took quite a few shots, some long exposures with the water frozen in time, which always looks so dreamy and pretty, and some faster exposures which show the power of the water - it's subjective and I know some don't like the look of long exposure water - being kind of artificial, and that's fine of course. I went with this one first but I'll probably post another contrasting one at some stage.

It was about a 90 second exposure (and a 30 second exposure for the sky to get some blue and clouds) and I blurred the sides a little (at varying percentages) for further dreaminess

I think it goes too often that we are not criticizing photography. Granted, criticism from others is not what improved my photography over the years. But criticism from myself did improve it. The fact was I didn't get much criticism before I made improvements.

Don't be afraid to criticize. I welcome it. But i think it must remain in the photography community. Taking a glance at so called "Modern Art" is a prime example. Art is not entirely subjective. There are rules. Without rules, there is really no creativity to create.

I welcome your thoughts and thanks for the view.

Evening in its primary meaning is the period of the day between afternoon and night. Though the term is subjective, evening is typically understood to begin a few hours before sunset, when temperatures begin to fall, and lasts until just after nightfall, when complete darkness has been reached. In layman's terms, the evening can range anywhere from four o'clock to nine.

Suprematism is an early twentieth-century art movement focused on the fundamentals of geometry (circles, squares, rectangles, triangles). The term refers to a form of abstract art based upon "the supremacy of pure artistic expression" rather than on a visual or literal depiction of objects. It is entirely subjective and gives room to the artist to present what they think or perceive versus what they may see.

The resulting image can present a believable window on the world but it is, in fact, very subjective :-)

It was my first visit to Werribee after three months of lockdowns and who was sitting at the gate between the heritage orchard and the "wild" part of the park?

Sacred Kingfisher's welcome, even from a distance, was more than I would expect. I haven't seen one for more than a year! The pair accompanied me with their voices for most of the time I spent in this area and I could shoot a couple of more action photos later on, alas in the sharp midday sun and from a fair distance again.

I know that objectively this shot is just a bird on a gate post but I can be a very subjective man. Sometimes ;-)

I see Rough-legged Hawks in all but the coldest weeks of winter, during which they tend to drift a little farther south. A very sparse snow cover - so far - seems to have induced them to linger, continue thinning out our rodent population, and give me the occasional good photo op. It's completely subjective, but I think they're our most beautiful hawk!

'Beauty in the eye of the beholder' has a literal meaning - that the perception of beauty is subjective.
