Central Texas, during rare strong storms in November. I waited in position for this cell to graze me for quite some time, and it was worth the wait. It put on a great little lightning show.

The weather in the mountains is constantly changing and provides a beautiful drama that is not found in many other places. Having lived in Minnesota my whole life, it was quite the nice change to see how beautiful the mountains are and the way that God created nature to interact with each other.

Not a ripple on the water and the sun was still shining, while a storm bore down on us.

Another shot from Caerphilly Castle on Saturday evening. After the sun went down I took a walk around the other side of the castle and behind me there was a massive bank of mean looking cloud given a pink hue from the setting sun. With thunderstorms hitting most of the south of England I was hoping this bank of cloud would put on a show, but Wales was spared from the storms and I didn't hear a hint of thunder.

A great place to hike in the Hudson Valley.

This windy picture from 2018 was taken with Mamiya RB67 and Ilford FP4.

Here's something a bit different as the last image of my storm chasing series. On this day (day 5 of the trip), this storm produced some great lightning, but it was this image, taken long after dark, with a little bit of structure visible each time the lightning flashed, that I liked best. I doubt this will be many people's favourite, but I like it a lot.

Thanks to everyone who has faved and, especially, who has commented on the 10 storm chasing images I've published. It has really meant a lot to me. Thanks, too, most of all to Mike Olbinski, storm chaser extraordinaire, who made it all happen!

If you'd like see more images I took while storm chasing, both this year and last year, take a look at my Storm Chasing album.

Storms rolling in at sunset with the sun shining through the rain. Oakland Twp, Michigan

The storm always impresses

Silhouette against a stormy sky of what were two trees once standing tall, but unfortunately one succumbed to high winds during a violent storm and now, although still alive (for now), lies horizontally.

Liberty Hill, Texas. Storm developed very quickly and I was positioned in front of its path, like an idiot. Worth it for this shot though. Quite spectacular!

I was ambushed by this impressive storm as I was out on a walk in the countryside. I made the mistake of thinking that after all the rain I'd encountered so far, I was now probably safe - and then this appeared from behind the trees I had just emerged from. It also produced quite a bit of lightning and thunder, so in the end I had to duck and stay close to the ground for safety's sake.
