We went to see a performance of ‘Wondrous Stories’ in Centenary Square tonight. It was definitely a spectacle, but I’m not sure that it didn’t ‘fall between two stools’.

There was a main screen that had some interesting video and acrobatic performers suspended across the screen using supports and ropes.

Then there were a large number of people, including wheelchair users, using the main area of the square.

The problem was that the best place to see the screen would have been in the square and because of the screen, stage and lighting equipment only a few spectators could actually see what was happening in the square. So neither part of the performance was seen at its best.

For Chris' group...leave your emotions at the door.

What's the story?

Ever since a seed blooms into a glimpse of elegance, the sad little prince, would search for a fallen star.

Once there was a dame ,who traveled through The Woods, To find The Cure

with her blackened hood, she traveled far,

for the sake of her kin, until she met a soul, who was not of human....

this mouth has validated many stories, shared much wisdom and inspired many women to reconnect inside themselves.... I teach what I must learn daily.

I finnaly came up with a background story for Kitzi, but don´t know if I like it or not o_o´´

Kitzi had lived alone in a old house since she was 9, her parents left one night without warning. She never really wondered why they left, everyone in the town said it was because she was ´strange´, of cause, Kitzi belived that she was ´strange´ as they said and locked herself up in the house.

Even after that she still kept smiling and laughing, for herself, until she moved away from the town, to somewhere, outside of a old town, no one know exactly where.. "

- As I said, I´m not sure if this is a good or bad story, but I really can´t come up with something else, so I hope you like it (^o^)

Look at this horror story about turning pages for Beethoven. I might even have nightmares about it.

Read Across America is not just a celebration for schools, it's a nationwide celebration that touches every community. From daycare centers to libraries and recreation centers, everyone is joining in on the fun!

At one daycare, our littlest learners are spent the day exploring the pages of their favorite books and discovering new stories to share with their friends.

Meanwhile, at a local library, families gathered to participate in a special story time, reading challenges, and games. Libraries have been decorated with colorful banners and posters, inviting readers of all ages to come in and explore the endless possibilities of reading.

And over at the recreation center, kids are taking a break from sports and games to join in on the fun. The center has set up reading corners, book swaps, and encouraging kids to explore new stories and have fun while doing it.

No matter where you go in our community today, the joy of reading is in the air. As we celebrate Read Across America, we're reminded of the power of books to inspire, educate, and connect us all. So let's pick up a book, share a story, and celebrate the magic of reading together!

This is the story of Rinky, the wrinkled butterfly.

Photo 13: Land of milk and honey

It was fun to photograph Rinky. Finally a butterfly that would let me get really close and not flutter away! I would sit next to him in the neighbor’s driveway with my camera, watching the world from a low perspective. Other butterflies were busily visiting the sweet blossoms as well. Ants were traveling along mysterious pathways. The sun felt warm. How often does one find oneself sitting outside on the ground with nothing to do but observe? Not often enough. It is an enlightening and rewarding exercise. Somehow I always felt spiritually refreshed after spending time with Rinky among the flowers.

He eagerly visited the same flowers day after day and seemed to be doing about as well as any wrinkled butterfly could hope for! It warmed my heart to see him doing so well.

A couple of electricians were up on the bridge wiring signal heads, now that must have been a real fun job on this very cold and windy day.

Quad Stories: Shhhh…Adventures in the Library

Found another interesting shot when I scrolled through my raw files. The same fisherman and oil platform that is found in 2 different shots of my previous posts.

Reason that I chose to process this one, is that the frame tells a story. Other than the contrast between the gigantic oil platform and the tiny little fisherman's boat, there are more stories behind: The shooting spot where we were is actually a Malay Fishermen village, most of the people there make a living on this traditional style of fishery.

The area beside was then developed into an industrial area with a huge port. Petrochemical and industrial waste had destroyed the marine ecosystem as well as the living of the residents there.

A young woman is shopping at a thrift store with her grandmother when she comes across an antique bubble gum machine. She inserts a coin and turns the handle. The shiny gum ball rolls down the dispenser and lands in her palm, bringing her a nostalgic connection to her grandmother. She looks up and smiles at the sweet matriarch and links arms with her. Together they continue shopping.

A young woman is at a carnival with friends. She stops at a vintage gum ball dispenser and purchases a piece for herself and her two friends. As she chews the gum and pops a bubble, she thinks about a 1950s carnival scene and sees an image of cotton candy. She snaps back to reality and follows her friends to the ferris wheel.
