'Blue Wall Red Flower 1' On Black

Playing around with flowers and walls again...

I found myself in the midst of this mixed flock of grackles, blackbirds, starlings...and then ths guy drove through.

He begun his day as usual; Alone. A term he detests and fears but alas, acceptance can be bitter at times when you think about it. The cool breeze was non existent for a change and he thought he caught a glimpse of the sun beams teasing him through the window as he prepared his breakfast. The back of his spine shivered feeling the brush of velvet fur along his leg. A sigh of relief was released when he heard the demanding meow.

"Coming!" he exclaimed, moving to the shelves to prepare the royal highness feline wet food.

Upon hearing the clattering of cutlery, the fluff queen emerged, sliding next to her brother and looking up at him with her glimmering eyes showing that she agreed, it was time to eat.

He packed a book and decided to go to a coffee shop to spend the warm day. After receiving his order of caramel latte with cream on top, he opened the book and begun to read. Mind begun to ignite, his senses left him for a while as he explored the world within his imagination that the book allowed him to experience. He made friends with the characters, joined in the laughter, wiped tears and had to suppress a lot of exclamation marks that came with the chapters.

The rain came and went, the sun said its goodbye and his nose remained inside the book. The caramel latte was long done but the smell of fresh cookies reached his nostrils and a tea cup with warm tea was next to the empty one. It was then he looked up and saw her typing away over her laptop in front of him.

"When did you get here?" he asked, blinking away the scenes in his head and realizing it was already night time, the candles' dancing flames around catching his attention and the decoration of the cafe finally getting some admiration.

"Don't remember..." she murmured, then looked up at him. "How's the book?"

"I don't know where to start." he grinned, and took the moment to stretch his arms a little.

She reached out and grabbed a cookie, shoving it at him, "Eat!" she exclaimed then went back to typing away.

He grumbled but chewed the cookie anyway and eyed his book and looked around for a moment taking a break from the world he came from, he will return to it soon. It made him wonder if he was really alone after all. Maybe not completely alone, it was a sweet feeling to realize that perhaps it was alright to be a little alone, but not forever.

"Psst, look, blonde hottie at your 3-o-clock..." she whispered suddenly, startling him a bit.

He rolled his eyes and did a little pretend side stretch so he can take a look if the blonde was really hot. What he did not expect was for their gaze to meet, a scarlet blush reached his cheeks as the stranger gave him a smile that made his heart flutter.

"Oh My God... Can you be more obvious, he is smiling at you now and coming this way! Don't panic..." she muttered under her breath and stood up, "I will get more cookies." she winked, "Good luck!"

"Don't you dare..." He whispered.

P.S. Spontaneous stories are always the best. Unir was so kind to hang out with me while I finish some building that is overdue and as I was camming around, my lack of focus caught a nice shot of him and that is how stories unfold, right?

I had a great time watching this bird the other day. He flew down from his fence post perch and started looking around in the grasses and every few seconds he would flash those wings. Popular belief is that these birds do that so that their white underwings startles any insects into movement. Slim pickings for him on this day as I never saw him catch anything.

A bespectacled guy with a white cloth wrapped around his head and while holding a smartphone in his hand on whose screen his eyes were glued earlier, is totally speechless as if seized by shock upon seeing a camera pointed at him.

Later on, however, he bursts into laughter after he saw the person behind the camera - a distant relative of his, who is fond of taking candid photos of ordinary, everyday people that he comes across with.

She jerked away from me like a startled fawn might, if I had a startled fawn and it jerked away from me.

We see countless sunrises, yet we are always startled by its beauty. At first there appears to be a tiny ball at the horizon. It slowly comes out of the shadow of clouds, increasing in size. You just look at it. The waves of seas kiss the land and rocks gently and you want to be kissed too.The vast expanse of sea in front of you filled with unknown depths and the land beneath you assuring you are safe, the cool breeze of air filled with pleasant notes and the sky with all the warmth of a mother

This is a simple zoom ICM of an interesting exhibit in the Islamic art section of the Ashmolean museum in Oxford.

If I remember rightly it’s a door or gate, wrought in iron with a regular star pattern, typical Arab minimalism. It’s quite large and hangs vertically on the exhibition room’s wall. I love regular patterns like this but struggled here to make it interesting.

I processed it from the raw file in Affinity on the iPaddle, using a simple black and white filter without toning.

Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Monochrome Thursday :)
