It's finally done!! Everyone demanded I tile it. Also, the base is raised due to the fact that I have a fiber optic cable under it to make the DHD light up.

Brouq Nature Reserve, Qatar
In 2014, four enormous standing steel plates appeared, perfectly aligned, in the Brouq Nature Reserve in western Qatar. It transpired that the plates were an installation by American process artist Richard Serra entitled East-West/West-East. These photographs show some of the plates, set against the desolate Qatari desert. They remind me of Roland Emmerich’s 1994 science fiction film Stargate, where an ancient portal is discovered in Egypt which creates a wormhole enabling inter-dimensional travel.
Here is a little picture of my SG-1 Team. I tried to use not too many custom parts but Teal´c really needed the Symbol on his forehead (Thanks to Shockwave for painting it: www.imperiumdersteine.de/index.php?/gallery/member/7328-s... )

The Falkirk Wheel captured after sunset, which does remind me of the Stargate series.
Should really got here just before it got too dark to get the equalisation of light as the wheel was very bright against the dark bleak with a hint of colour in the sky...
No filters used just the Sony 24-105mm Lens.

The forest of Mont Boron is the main park to the west of Nice. It is famous for its many vistas oriented on the city and on the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer and Cap Ferrat. It houses the battery Mont Boron, a chamber 400 meters long and 15 000 meters carrés3, built in 1886-1887 and designed to protect both the Bay of Angels as the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer.
First test of my new contraption. Was gonna try this outside, but the weather had other ideas tonight. I didn't plan it, but I think it looks a bit like the "beam me up" rings from stargate LOL ;-)
Hardest part was finding bits of furniture, tables etc the right height to get the rings evenly spaced, anyway it seemed to work out ok for a first try ;-)
SOOC, auto white balance & a bit of cloning out of some of the el wire on the floor, then a quick crop to finish.

Clear moonless nights for a while so I am out cruising around looking for inspiration. Came across this bridge and noticed the galactic centre was just above it - thought this would make a good image.

Dropped out to Sculptures at Killalea today and saw this brilliant work created by Myles Naylor.
As someone who's been in the metal trades for 40+ this is a brilliant creation and I hope I've done it justice in this take on it.
