my anthem
I Stand Alone
I know the sound of each rock and stone
I embrace what others fear
You are not to roam in this forgotten place
Just the likes of me are welcome here
Everything breathes
And I know each breath
It's more than enough for this man
Like every tree stands on its own
Reaching for the sky I stand alone
I share my world
With no one else
All by myself I stand alone
Deep in the darkness my heart still sees
Everything that I'll never be
Behind these eyes I'll go everywhere
There's no need for sympathy
Everything breathes and I know each breath
In my world there's no compromise
Like every tree stands on its own
Oh reaching for the sky I stand alone
I share my world with no one else
All by myself...
Still
I will remember
Still
I'll run with you, yes
And when it's time for you to go
Take me in your heart
Like every tree
Stands on its own
Oh reaching for the sky I stand alone
I share my world with noone else
All by myself
I stand alone
All by myself... all by myself
I stand alone

I started by taking a little break but then the Euro started and I promised myself only to post again when Portugal would come home Well guess what!? We won the Euro Championship which means that it took a lot more time for me to come back ^^ Cheers everyone

Driving South of Calgary to just West of Nanton. Only one bird to be seen. It was a good day to drive the back roads.

At BFVA, Steebles gave me these two awesome dudes, I felt they needed a cool little scene.
Thanks John!
A sudden sand typhoon raised on the side of the road I was driving, on the way from Eilat to Mitzpe ramon.
It was very high (as you can see by the electric stands). It was over in less than 30 seconds and I noticed a few more of these, but much smaller rising around me. It was impressive and strange, but wasn't frightening in any way. It seemed harmless.

This Japanese Maple Tree stands in a local botanic garden and I stop to snap it every time I'm there. The delicate leaves, the spreading canopy and the short, gnarled trunk are beautiful and interestingly contrast each other. It's leaves are different colors in different seasons, but when it's "Dress for Autumn" it is at its most beautiful!

Sandon city hall now stands mostly alone surrounded on all sides by dramatic forested mountains. A fascinating but forlorn location where you can feel the ghost from the past of all those who worked to mine 2.5 million dollars’ worth of ore per year (1899 dollars). open.library.ubc.ca/collections/bcbooks/items/1.0347567#p...:

From a weathered wooden post, an iron cage, gnawed by rust and time, dangles ominously. Crafted to hold a sole prisoner, it offers no escape from the elements or prying eyes. Its skeletal form casts long shadows, a stark and public warning to all who pass by, ensuring the captive's plight is a constant, visible spectacle in the bleak landscape.
