The Stand-Off

Photographing the sea is a constant challenge.

After hundreds (really hundreds) of outputs for shooting seascape we need to always take care as it was the first day and the first session. All the photographers that take seascape seriously already had their scares and bad times. I've had mine!

Respect for the sea is essential but the pursuit of "the" photo always forces our limits versus the strength and imprevisibility of the sea ...

Here Filipe challenged his own fears in the same place where about 20 minutes before we had both taken a huge bath result of a wave that was easily about 3 meters high. With our feet firmly on the ground and tripods raised as high as we could even so we ended up soacking wet...thank God no harm was done!

Needless to say that while we were cleaning up, we lost the best time, the best color, the best conditions ...you all know how it works:)

I thank Filipe Mendonça for the company and praise is ability to overcome is own fears.

I hope you enjoy it...

PS. Regarding this photo i can honestly say that i am becoming a Nisi addicted...the filters are really great, no cast, great built, no lost in definition or contrast, great quality of the built in CPL...its official, i´m a fan!!!

Whilst the autumn colours are in full force at the moment, the weather has other ideas. So here is an image from Blea Tarn last year, I loved the stand out golden tree lining the shoreline. It was a waiting game, I was ecstatic when the water calmed and the sun broke through illuminating the golden foliage.

Still not fit for fight but had to fill up the refrigerator with some food. Luckily the store sign had painted some shadow graffiti with the bicycle stand…Snap!
