Listen to one of the greatest love songs of all time: Ben E. King - Stand By Me
Stand by Me: Ben E King
When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
So darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me
Stand by me
If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry
No, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
And darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me
Stand by me
Darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me, stand by me
Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me
Oh stand by me, oh won't you stand now, stand
Stand by me...

Caught a photo of a stand up paddler just taking it easy! Happy Thanksgiving people.

Cardinals are so fast! This photo is one from my archives, and I thought it appropriate with all the snow falling in the south (but not here in VA).

Another shot from one of the most amazing mornings I've ever witnessed. The mist and fog hung around so long without being too dense to make it impossible to shoot. It extended that great morning light for hours.
Thanks for looking!

SE Borden's Vader signal stands tall above the dormant rails of the CSX ex-Monon Hoosier Sub. The Vaders never were really focused on by photographers, understandably so, with semaphores and searchlights dotting the line. That being said, I am glad to have this shot. In late 2020 my family and I made multiple trips to the Hoosier Subdivision before it was entirely ripped up. As of 2024, it is now a trail.

Whilst the autumn colours are in full force at the moment, the weather has other ideas. So here is an image from Blea Tarn last year, I loved the stand out golden tree lining the shoreline. It was a waiting game, I was ecstatic when the water calmed and the sun broke through illuminating the golden foliage.
A similar image features in my 2018 Lakes Calendar, now available and in limited supply:
I wanted to get close but too lazy, the tracks on the sand seemed to be leading up to this guy so I just took the shot from far away :D
And probably the only good thing about desert summers are the epic sunsets
