We spotted this stand of trees while driving across the island. The light wasn't the best but I've done my best in PP to balance things out, hope you enjoy viewing

Since I still have a significant backlog of images from Iceland, sometimes - instead of going through them one after another - I look through them randomly to see if any stand out, and this time it was one from the beautiful Hraunafossar which we visited at the end of our trip.
After we enjoyed a quick dip in the hot water of the Búðardalur hot pot, which was on our way from the Westfjords to Reykjavik, we continued our drive through the amazing landscape and decided to make a short detour to the Hraunafossar. From the parking lot, it was only a short walk to the viewing platforms where you can see turquoise water coming out of the porous black lava which is covered with beautiful greenery. Every time I arrive at epic locations, I kind of feel overwhelmed and need a little time to find some compositions that work, but in this case I have to give credit to my girlfriend for spotting the composition you see here, which I shamelessly stole from her (after politely asking of course).
Taking this image wasn't easy as we were standing on a wooden floor that was shaking when people were walking over it (we could have moved a little to the side, but then the angle was not ideal and trees in the foreground blocked the view a bit) and since it’s not too far away from Reykjavik, I guess you can image how many people visit this location. I also had to zoom in to 200mm to isolate the waterfall and using filters to get a longer exposure together with the occasional wind gusts made this composition not easy to get.
After getting at least one sharp image, I noticed that my girlfriend was struggling with sharpness and soon we identified the problem: Her tele lens does not have a tripod collar and she didn’t have an L-bracket at that time. This means that - in order to take a long exposure in portrait orientation - she had to tilt the ball head of her tripod to the side, where the weight of the camera and lens caused the camera to move down introducing some blur in her images. At first we thought that the reason might be her cheaper tripod, but then I gave her my tripod with which she got the same blurry images. This meant that the only reason could be the small tripod plate on the bottom of her camera, and it only took a quick look to see that it was noticeably shifted. Fortunately, I had another spare tripod plate with me and using this together with my tripod made it possible that she also got the result she wanted. After spending way to much time at this location, we continued upstream to see the Barnafoss as well. Finally, we got a coffee at the restaurant next to the parking lot before we continued to the Reykjavik campsite with a slightly sad feeling that our trip goes to an end. I hope you like it!

The Bracken is waist height at the moment and the only paths are the ones made by the Deer. Lots of hidden rocks but so far so good! Deer are such sure footed animals and can go anywhere with little effort. There are lots of baby ones up here at the moment and I came across two well hidden.Its lovely the way their mothers stand their ground in case you would go near them in spite of the fact that they are scared. I try not to disturb them as they are such lovely timid and endearing creatures.
Its a wild place with a special charm all of its own that I never seem to tire of.

The sky was non inspiring this morning, so I’ve intentionally blown the highlights to give the image a mysterious look.

Diu la llegenda que Reinhold Heindecke, durant la 1a Guerra Mundial, va tenir la idea de disenyar una càmera que es pogués fer servir com un periscopi per fotografiar des de la trinxera sense ser vist. Als anys 20 aquesta idea va anar evolucionant molt, però al final el que donà fou la Rolleiflex com a mare de totes les càmeres reflex de dos objectius (TLR).
Però heus aquí que es pot fer servir una Rolleiflex tal i com va somiar Heindecke, per fotografiar panorames per sobre d'obstacles (invertint la càmera i mirant amunt): com aquí, amb la vista del Vapor Casanovas, de Sabadell, on estan començant obres de rehabilitació (i per tant hi ha una gran valla metal·lica).

Picture taken with my Rolleiflex Original (K1 612) made in 1929; Carl Zeiss Tessar f3.8 / 75mm lens; Fomapan 100 film, respooled to 620 format, stand developed in Rodinal for 56 minutes.
Legend has it that Reinhold Heindecke, during World War I, had the idea to design a camera that could be used as a periscope to photograph from the trench without being seen. In the 1920s this idea evolved a lot, but in the end what resulted was the Rolleiflex as the mother of all two-lens reflex cameras (TLR).
But see, you can use a Rolleiflex just as Heindecke dreamed, to photograph panoramas above obstacles, inverting the camera and looking upwards: like here, with the view of the Vapor Casanovas, in Sabadell, where rehabilitation works are starting (and therefore there there is a large metal fence).

The pheasant (Phasianus colchicus; plural pheasants or pheasants) is a species of bird in the order of the chicken family. As with other pheasant species, the cock stands out due to its colorful plumage and significantly longer tail feathers. Hens show a brownish camouflage coloration. The call of the cockerel is a loud, characteristic and often strung gö-göck.

This is a shot from inside a souvenir marketplace near the marina in Cabo San Lucas. Inside the marketplace are many stalls and vendors selling remarkably similar items. A tough place to stand out for sure. Outside are some of the boats that ply the bay outside the marina.
