Enjoying the weekend in London....soaking up the sunshine....the London vibe....and capturing London with a camera in my hand....using the shiny brick surface to capture St Pauls reflection
A 16th century Jesuit Catholic Church in Munich, Bavaria. It is, apparently, the largest Renaissance church plus the first to be built north of the Alps. It has a relatively nondescript frontage in the main pedestrianised street but is wonderful once inside.
A new year has come, and ten days in I have my first rail shot of the year.
This year the honors belong to the St Cloud Local, which on this day sported two good-looking GP60Ms.

So, in a way, this was a second chance of sorts.
On New Years Day I boldly proclaimed I believed 2022 was going to be an incredible year. Ten days in, it's been anything but that. However, today was a good turnaround, and still have 355 more days for awesomeness.

Die modern gestaltete Kirche wurde in den Jahren 1970/71 als Ersatz für eine Laurentiuskirche im Dorfkern Buchbach aus dem Jahre 1754 errichtet. Am 15. August 1971 feierte die Gemeinde die Einweihung des Gotteshauses, das in Beschreibungen auch „Dom des Frankenwaldes“ genannt wird. Etwa 40.000 freiwillige Arbeitsstunden hatten die Gemeindemitglieder geleistet. Den Entwurf fertigte der Darmstädter Architekturprofessor Gerhard Mantke nach Ideen des damaligen Gemeindepfarrers Reinhold Goldmann, der Initiator des Neubaus war.

Pendennis Castle is in the background, on the far bank of the River Fal.
The iconic breakwater in St Monans in Fife, Scotland. This was my first time here, the weather was not great it was very overcast. I plan to come back to revisit this on a better day.
St Andrews Castle sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a small beach called Castle Sands and the adjoining North Sea.
Originally built around 1200 the castle was largely destroyed during the Wars of Independence 1336-1337 by the Scottish forces themselves to prevent the English forces from using it as a stronghold.
Most of the castle ruins you can see today date from the rebuilt St Andrews Castle between 1400 and 1560.
After the Scottish Reformation in 1560 the castle largely fell into ruin and passed into state control in 1871.
It is now managed and maintained as a scheduled monument by Historic Environment Scotland.
St Andrews is a coastal town and former Royal Burgh on the East coast of Fife.

Personally, I enjoy a cascading set of waterfalls, as much as seeing ancient sediment layers. And if you are a fan of cake like layers of argillites, then St. Mary Falls is a sweet slice of heaven.
A variety of unique sedimentary rock can be found throughout the mountains of Glacier. Glacier National Park is a national treasure for its geology as much as it is for the eye candy we all come to photograph.

La cucina è semplice ma sempre accompagnata da ottime birre. Imperdibile il classico fish&chips; obbligo consumarlo in riva al mare insieme ai gabbiani …quando non piove !!!

Although the exact construction date of the monastery is unknown, it is thought to have been built before 1855 since the carved inscriptions on the walls of the inner narthex with names and dates indicate that it was repaired between 1870 and 1877. The monastery consists of the monolithic rock mass into which the church was carved and the spaces in the courtyard and garden.
