I decided to try a slightly different viewpoint for this shot, resting my camera on my cycle pannier bag on the ground to include the fallen leaves.
I took different exposures for the sky and foreground and focused on the leaves for the foreground exposure, then blended the exposures to an HDR image in lightroom.
Sunset on a busy street in St. Augustine.
St. Augustine is a lovely town in Norther Florida. It is known as the oldest continuously occupied city in the United States. It was founded by the Spanish in 1565 and and has a rich history of Spanish, British, again Spanish, and finally U.S. rule. Its historic downtown is probably the ultimate tourist trap: it features a large number of houses with dates from centuries past, but I was devastated to learn that most of them were built in the 60-ies and even later, using old pictures and such - and it took a lot of digging to find it out. Castillo the San Marcos (not pictured here), however, is real - a genuine late XVII century Spanish fort built from coquina rock.

The tiny church of St Peter’s in Heysham is dramatically perched on a cliffside. This Grade I Listed church must have one of the most picturesque settings in the country, looking out over Morecambe Bay to the panorama of the Lakeland hills.
There are remains some of the Anglo-Saxon building from around 800AD but most of the present building dates from the 14thC and from around 1500. Heysham july 2022
