It was a beautiful Tuesday morning at the docks. Luckily I had my 10-22mm with me. Converted the image to B&W and used a graduated filter.

The Swilcan Bridge, or Swilken Bridge, is a famous small stone bridge in St Andrews Links golf course, Scotland. The bridge spans the Swilcan Burn between the first and eighteenth fairways on the Old Course, and has itself become an important cultural icon in the sport of golf. The bridge itself is extremely small; at its farthest extent it measures about 30 feet long, eight feet wide and six feet tall, in the style of a simple Roman arch. Originally built at least 700 years ago to help shepherds get livestock across, it has the modern photographic advantage of great backdrops on three sides: the course’s grand Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and Hamilton Hall on one, often a packed grandstand of enthusiasts on another, and rolling hills facing toward the North Sea, on the last. St. Christopher Church was built from 1695-1698 by Father Francisco Albear, but damaged by an earthquake in 1880. It is the only church in the country with three belfries. The convent was also damaged by an earthquake in 1855 but was reconstructed in 1586 and was completed in 1873.

The church has a massive facade with baroque, renaissance and Muslim features.

St.Catherine's is a remote Victorian church built in 1866.

Designed by architect EW Pugin, St.Catherine's at Kingsdown in Kent is the only complete Anglican church he designed and is almost totally unchanged since it opened in 1877.

It is no longer used for worship and is in the care of the chuches conservation trust.

The sun is out and St Martin's is looking splendid.

Another treat last night as the Northern Lights made an appearance at St Mary's. Thrilled to have captured it so close to home. Lots of photographers about . Happy New Year everyone.
