Photos of our 1972 Chevelle SS, before restoration

The 1906 Matt Oledo Cabin is located on the grounds outside the SS Moyie

The SS Moyie was built in 1898 for the Canadian Pacific Railway. It carried passengers and freight on Kootenay Lake in British Columbia for 59 years. Today it is the world's oldest intact passenger sternwheeler, and has been beautifully restored and open for tours in Kaslo, BC.

Nowadays a hotel and must-see attraction in Rotterdam.

In 2010 the former flagship of the Holland America Line "Rotterdam" opened its doors for the public. This steamship has the cruise hotel, a bar and a restaurant on aboard. To explore the ship on your own, you can take an audio tour.

ODT Cards

While searching for a "corner block" for ODC group, I came across this envelope which which contained the post card seen. It was put together as a souvenir of the voyage and sent to my father by someone whose signature I cannot read. I have been searching for another example of this envelope without sucess. If you know anything about it, please leave a comment.

For sale, seen in Sarasota FL. The prewar roadster evolved into the postwar Jaguar, the name SS not being viewed as a good selling point post-1945. SS in this context stood for Swallow Saloon.

One of the places I stayed in Northumberland in October 2015 was The White Swan Hotel in Alnwick. A town which again features in what will be the last ever episode of Downton Abbey, to be broadcast in the UK on Christmas Day and in America in spring 2016. I've walked past this hotel countless times over several decades and noticed the plaque outside which relates to the SS Olympic - twin sister ship to the Titanic - and its First Class Lounge which, amazingly, is now within the hotel. But I had never entered the hotel itself. So walking into dinner on a Monday evening was a jaw dropping moment. These photos, taken after breakfast in the same room the next morning, don't do it any justice in terms of its scale and size as the lens tends to foreshorten distances. The waiting staff must walk several miles just in the course of one sitting. A stunning experience and the closest I will ever get to dining on the Titanic.

Así la dejé, algo de pintura, frenos y forros nuevos, limpieza y engrasado de motor y rodamientos de las ruedas. Me habría gustado poder hacerle más cosas pero me faltó presupuesto.
