Where is that special place in the world that makes you feel peaceful and calm, and that you can carry everywhere in your thoughts?

ON EXPLORE!!!!
This scripture is special to me because a long, long, long time ago it was my Bible verse at my confirmation. (artist unknown)
We all know what the ‘bad and sad’ news is each day, we are bombarded with it?
All too aware of it.
Why would I want to repeat-share this?
I prefer to sprinkle some beauty, goodness, kindness and joy, we all need it.
Gerbera is a genus of ornamental plants from the sunflower family.
It was named in honour of the German naturalist Traugott Gerber.
It has approximately 30 species in the wild, extending to South America, Africa and tropical Asia.
Colours include white, yellow, orange, red, and pink.
Hope this brings a bit of joy again rather than Angst which I see in so many images and news, have a good day and thanks for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)

When you do wildlife photography, every once in awhile, if you are really lucky, you will have a special encounter with an animal or bird that is a little more extraordinary than others.
Instead of running, or flying off because of your presence, like they would normally do, for whatever reason they seem just fine with your presence and allow you to get up closer than usual without showing any signs of fear.
Last week I posted a picture of a little Red-crowned Kinglet that I'd seen flitting around in what was left of the tomato plants.
I managed to click off a few shots of him, but he was very skittish, and when I tried to move around to the other side of the garden area to get better light on him, he flew off
So, when I saw this little Yellow- crowned Kinglet in the tomatoes yesterday, I was very cautious when approaching with the camera. I didn't want to spook him.
It turns out, I didn't need to worry!
This little guy was amazing!
If I didn't know any better, I'd have sworn he was tame!
He didn't care that I was there, he didn't care that I was leaning right over him in the tomato patch, he didn't care when I got down on my hands and knees with the 100mm.fixed macro and tried getting close ups of him!
If I'd have put my finger up under his breast, I swear he'd have jumped up on it!
He spent a couple of hours hopping around out there on the plants before taking off!
It was a wonderful visit and made my day!
A special place where I often hang out around sunrise and meditate. I sit a spell and receive thankfully and gladly nature's gifts.
some people make the world special just by being in it ;)

Canadian singer-songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot died last week. I decided to make a Spotify playlist of his songs and discovered that one of the songs on this album is about a Persian cat. I've listened to it innumerable times and always assumed "Daylight Katy" was a woman. Lightfoot was a special and talented man who leaves behind a legacy of wonderful music!

What I’m assuming to be a last minute decision with the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt museum in Medora, the BNSF Officer Special, funnily symboled the “O-TOPDIC” made their way through Willmar with the 3 recently painted 250th units. Originally I stood for this train when I went to bed, but in typical railroad fashion that noon planned time fell back almost 12 hours. Enough time to take a train to Breckenridge and back, and still get off work before this one came in. I’m not the best by any means of photographing trains at night (especially moving ones) but I couldn’t pass this up. My friend also happened to be the student engineer on this trip, so him and the rest of the guys wanted their photo taken.
NJ Transit F40PH-2CAT no. 4120 (EMD, 1981) and sister 4119 are seen leading excursion train X404 across Brielle Draw over the Manasquan River on the North Jersey Coast Line. The train was a special run in celebration of NJ Transit Rail Operations' 40th Anniversary, and featured a locomotive swap from electric to diesel at South Amboy.
Union Pacific SD40-2s No. 3152 and 3823 pull an 11-car passenger special up the Cherry Hill grade between Farmington and Kaysville, Utah on Oct. 10, 1995.
Cousins Cody and Lucy take in the wonders of underwater life together at the Maui Ocean Center. Two of my grandkids, they live 1000 miles apart and had never met, but they bonded instantly as if they had been always been best buddies, and were inseparable the week they were together.
Every once in awhile you see a sunset that is special. And maybe that's entirely in the eye of the beholder. This one is special to me because it came at the end of a long day hiking with my siblings in Glacier National Park. That was six years ago already, but the brilliance of the sunset lives on in my mind's eye.

Last train of the day is this BNSF "special" (extra) ballast train from Paducah, KY to Havre, MT.
Up front is a post-merger SD70MAC, still in its BN inspired paint.
Unseen at the far end of the train is a GEVO, so the MAC wasn't alone, but it was all by itself up front and looked pretty nice.
Not a bad day of train shooting with only 1 train having a GE leader. (photo not uploaded)

"Special taste" is a translation on the lantern. Perhaps another one of those tuckout bars which are very common in this part of Tokyo. You can see another bar further down the street on the left.
I was looking for more compositions like Saitama without having to rely on the same lantern. So I eventually found this composition. Lantern was in a great place, excluding the guys at the bar there was no one in the shot somehow, but the shot contained something I worked to avoid here at Omoide, the large white signs that say in full uppercase in english "NO SMOKING" & "RESTROOMS ->" It may be different for locals but seeing that just makes it seem like this was not on location. I settled on keeping the signs (because of complications with the sakura) but eliminating the words.
In editing I carried over a mission I failed to achieve in my last Omoide post, and that was making it look like it was taken later at night. I gave the tokyo sign in the back a lot more light and took all the illumination out of the clouds. The lantern didn't have much clarity so I brought in another one of my shots to fill in the blanks and make it a better subject. Saitama's still my better Omoide lantern shot though (maybe I'll remaster it).
I don't know if this is the best shot to start a new month with but it's been a while since I posted on this place. Hell, some sites I visited in Japan still have yet to show up at all on the site. There's no pattern in my processes I can tell you that.
