What a pity that this Guy GS Special was not preserved. MXX371 was new to LTE in 1954 and passed to Stevenson in 1965. It regularly saw service on Ashbourne, Hanbury and Uttoxeter local services and lasted for seven years before going for scrap. To the left is Plaxton-bodied Daimler CVD6, GUS293 which originated with Northern Roadways, Glasgow in 1949, and was at Spath from 1958 to 1966. The Brush-bodied Guy Arab III was one of three bought from Burton Corporation in 1954, together with a Guy-bodied one.

oldest double decker remaining in the operational M&D fleet,

Greater Manchester Police welcomed 17 new Special Constables at an attestation ceremony at the force's Sedgley Park Centre on Tuesday 16 July 2019.
Assistant Chief Constable Russ Jackson and Special Constabulary Chief Officer Mike Walmsley welcomed the new officers, and looked on as they took their Police Oath before local magistrate Stephen Paine.
All of the recruits who attended the ceremony have completed a five month training programme and, once fully operational, will volunteer at least four hours of their free time every week. The main focus of their duties will be to assist GMP officers in serving local communities and preventing crime.
All Special Constables share the same powers as regular officers, including the power of arrest.
