To commemorate the passing of the Chatham & District name two vehicles were repainted into special liveries. Bristol VR
5101 wore traditional Chatham & District colours whilst the
oldest double decker remaining in the operational M&D fleet,
Leyland Atlantean 5558 (558 LKP) received traditional M&D dark green and cream. The latter is seen here at Gillingham Bus Station during 1982.
