So I've taken the plunge and gone Pro....so expect regular uploads to recommence!
Sadly the Spark livery will soon be one of the only dedicated ones left (there are still a few Yellow Flashes about) seen here passing the Firkin Doghouse pub (never been in this one, very much a locals haunt) and sadly as per the current status in our country the doors were firmly shut, hopefully one day they will reopen and brighter times will return (a bit like the pub colour!)

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, ibut how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
"Her beauty is not just—or even primarily—physical. In her face, I see her wisdom, her compassion, her courage, her eternal glory. This other beauty, this spiritual beauty—which is the deepest truth of her—sustains me in times of fear and despair, as other truths might sustain a priest enduring martyrdom at the hands of a tyrant. I see nothing blasphemous in equating her grace with the mercy of God, for the one is a reflection of the other. The selfless love that we give to others to the point of being willing to sacrifice our lives for them, is all the proof I need that human beings are not mere animals of self-interest; we carry within us a divine spark, and if we chose to recognize it, our lives have dignity, meaning, hope. In her it is spark is bright, a light that heals rather than wounds me."
— Dean Koontz
“You have to find what sparks a light in you so that you in your own way can illuminate the world.”

... flower was no harm during the photoshoot ;)
4th of July Weekend was spent camping on the Oregon Coast at Ft Stevens State Park. I wanted to try something a little different this holiday, so I brought along some steel wool. My brothers and I had a lot of fun with it while tons of people launched illegal fireworks right on the beach. But the next night, my wife and I had our own fun at the shipwreck of the Peter Iredale.
Did you see Rebels pilot episode? I did and I have to admitt this series gonna rocks! I'm totally amazed how after bad TCW era Rebels can bring back old SW ambience. Can't wait to see next episodes!
Ex-GWR/BR Hawksworth 16XX Class pannier 1605 at Gloucester Horton Road shed in around 1961.
These devices were fitted where the loco would be operating in areas subject to fire or explosion hazards, such as WD/MOD ammunition stores..
The loco had entered service in November 1949, and was withdrawn in February 1962, and scrapped in May.
The last of the class were withdrawn in 1966, and one of these was sold for preservation.
The shed closed to steam in January 1966, and closed completely in the early-1990s. Today (2023) the site is being cleared, but some of the buildings still remain.
Restored from a completely-magenta/pink original..

Clyde Puffer VIC72 moored up at Inveraray on 16th September 2017.
Built in Hull for the Navy in 1944, she worked for the Admiralty from 1947 until 1968 when she was sold into private hands, named Eldesa and based at Troon on the Clyde. She was converted to diesel power in 1967.
In 1972 she was registered on Mull and used mostly to transport timber to Corpach. In 1984, she was renamed Eileen Easdeal and worked around Oban and Easdale Island.
She was eventually named Vital Spark in memory of the fictional Clyde Puffer created by Scottish writer Neil Munro in 1905.
This is old - taken at the same time as "Date Night". Due to the similarities I needed to get a few shots in between the original and this one - done.
With one little piece, a spark is created that causes an explosion that pushes a piston that turns a crank that spins a gear that make your wheels roll. And that is how that big piece of metal on rubber wheels is transformed into a moving ice cream truck .. and that rat better go down my street this time or I'm gonna ... well, I'm gonna!

The thing that makes the spark that explodes the petrol in the cylinder that forces down the piston that pushes the con rod that turns the flywheel that drives the wheels of your car or your bike. I suppose this could have been a tenuous link to yesterday's prompt with all these connections.

I never liked any of processing I did for this shot until just the other day when I got a version I liked. I think the offset works on this one.
Thoughts?

"Spark of life"
Acrylic painting on linen.
150x220cm, 2015.
This painting is about famous scene from Michelangelo's 'Creation of Adam', where the spark of life passes from God`s finger to Adam`s. Everything going on around the scene on the left part of composition is me pondering the next steps in Adam's evolution. The final point of it is to reach the Cosmic Mind.
