Space Shuttle Endeavour is a retired orbiter from NASA's Space Shuttle program and the fifth and final operational shuttle built. It embarked on its first mission, STS-49, in May 1992 and its 25th and final mission, STS-134, in May 2011.

My father has been scanning old pictures and he emailed me this a few days ago. It shows a very young version of me in the summer of 1989 playing with my monorail and other space sets, as well as a version of set 6971 (Intergalactic command base) that I'd rebuilt in space police colours.

...travelling the void in style...

This is my idea of a proper space age ride. The detached shuttle can be used for planetary excursions. With the rocket stage attached, you're ready for interstellar flights!

The nose tiles of the shuttle show the wear of multiple re-entries from orbit.

SpaceEngine - A free space simulation program that lets you explore the universe in three dimensions, from planet Earth to the most distant galaxies. Areas of the known universe are represented using actual astronomical data, while regions uncharted by astronomy are generated procedurally. Millions of galaxies, trillions of stars, countless planets - all available for exploration. You can land any planet, moon or asteroid and watch alien landscapes and celestial phenomena. You can even pilot starships and atmospheric shuttles.

From Ridley Scott's science fiction epic Alien. It rotates and lites up via power functions and lifelites. Another astronaut iluminates the scope on the other side. I used Giger's Alien book as reference.

I took this shot a few days ago. I like it - it’s what I like to shoot.

My thoughts were to mix the landscape up with people. I wrote a few short words about this shoot on my blog. Feel free to have a read and please comment if you have any thoughts.

Captain Tanno of the U.S.S Fury

Tanno specializes in navigation and command. While he's quick-tempered, he knows how to fly a ship. And not just any ship, but his beauty from the Mandalorian Wars- the U.S.S Fury. Veteran.

Feedback and comments are appreciated!

This is just version 1. I may change a few of the figures so that they represent some sort of faction- or guild. Who knows!

Joker out.

Shortly after NASAs Orion Spacecraft was launched on a test flight, I found out that there is no need to go building expensive rockets and shuttles to explore space - just pop round to number 12.

Its right outside.

when I've got something I'm supposed to be drawing I usually end up drawing stuff like this instead.

Quicksilver's boss appears to have been to Japan again and come back with a couple of coaches that are obscure even by his standards! This one is a Nissan Diesel Space Wing, which I think has a Fuji Heavy Industries body and is liveried for Seibu Bus. The model is made by Epoch Co under the M-Tech brand name and is exactly 1/76 scale, although Epoch are better known for producing a range of mainly Japanese cars in 1/72.

A little display diorama thing I made, partly for my kids to play with, but also just to put some little MOCs together...
