The IDIOTs (Intergalactic Digital Imaging Optical Technicians) have processed an image captured by the Hullbull Remote Space Telescope of uncataloged nebulae and star systems seen in a galaxy in the Abell 2744 cluster.
Not a real space image. Light art.
Composite of two unaltered photographs. One image using lensless Waterworld technique to create nebula patterns with green, red, and blue LEDs. Second long exposure designed and implemented based on lensless Waterworld image geometry, 100mm lens (base layer/EXIF data) to create stars; 4 "burns" to create segregated star color patterns using water droplet technique and red, white, blue, and yellow colored LEDs; cover/recompose, create larger stars using blue, green, red LEDs, then white LED light painted plastic to create background galaxies.

Here's another try at Space. I'll leave it intact for a few more days in case I decide to improve it (there is enough room for that).
Just another Classic Space build, rendered to put in my new modernized retro Box Cover design.
To satisfy the Classic Space Heart. :)

Despite knowing that tickets to see the Space Shuttle Endeavour were recommended, we chose to not purchase them. We figured somehow that demand to go see it wouldn't be too high, even though it was a Friday. Once we got to the California Science Center, we read signs everywhere stating that tickets to see the shuttle were sold out. We decided to go in anyway. Once there, I approached one of the ushers and asked if we would be able to see the shuttle somehow that day. The usher stated that it was so packed, only ticket holders would be able to go in. We were extremely sad that we wouldn't get to see this great ship we had come to see. A few seconds later, a lady who worked for the science center approached us asking how many of us there were. It was our lucky day!

After my 2005/2006 Falcon and Sandcrawler custom efforts, I didn't modify any Lego sets or come up with my own creations until 2009 and beyond.
Modifying the Space Police vehicle from 5971 was my first effort. While most of my to-be-uploaded custom efforts have a name, I just call this one 5971.
I felt Lego's design had a cool Fifth Element film aspect to it, and I hoped to improve upon it, which is something I have continued to do with Space Police, Alien Defense Unit, Galaxy Squad, and other themed vehicles.
Space Police 5971 features:
- All four atmospheric turbofans rotate. Deep space engine & thrusters included.
- Main cannon in rear housing swings down with full rotation.
- Right & left spotlights positionable.
- Opening cockpit with a minifig that, of course, barely fits.
The color scheme is black, white, and dark blue, with trans-dark blue windscreens. Outer space engines & thrusters are trans-neon orange, and weapons use metallic silver. Lastly I use the white triangles on dark blue tiles as a Space Police logo.
Mosaic art installed at ESA’s spacecraft operations centre ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, next to a model of an Ariane launcher. French artist Invader is installing his iconic art at ESA establishments all over Europe and even on the International Space Station.
The European Space Operations Centre ensures the smooth working of spacecraft in orbit. Its control rooms, linked to ground stations all over the world, track and control satellites, and carry out payload operations and routine systems monitoring.
After ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti found a space invader called ‘Space2’ in the Columbus space laboratory, the space-themed art has appeared at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany and at ESA’s Redu Centre in Belgium, where satellites are controlled and tested as part of ESA’s ground station network.
Mission control believes Invader will organise more invasions and activate aliens at other ESA establishments throughout the year. Follow their progress on Twitter via #space2iss and #SpaceInvader.

SpaceEngine - A free space simulation program that lets you explore the universe in three dimensions, from planet Earth to the most distant galaxies. Areas of the known universe are represented using actual astronomical data, while regions uncharted by astronomy are generated procedurally. Millions of galaxies, trillions of stars, countless planets - all available for exploration. You can land any planet, moon or asteroid and watch alien landscapes and celestial phenomena. You can even pilot starships and atmospheric shuttles.
