SpaceEngine - A free space simulation program that lets you explore the universe in three dimensions, from planet Earth to the most distant galaxies. Areas of the known universe are represented using actual astronomical data, while regions uncharted by astronomy are generated procedurally. Millions of galaxies, trillions of stars, countless planets - all available for exploration. You can land any planet, moon or asteroid and watch alien landscapes and celestial phenomena. You can even pilot starships and atmospheric shuttles.

A photo of space suit from the Smithsonian Space Museum in Washington, DC. This may have been a prototype, but seriously, could anyone survive more than two seconds in space in this?

After major advances in spacecraft propulsion, the Zenon space station in the Omikron sector was less and less visited and quickly fell into disrepair. The latest generation of spaceships were able to reach the most inhabited sectors in the system without a stopover. Subsequently, the Xæraba space station in the Qoppa sector became a vibrant hub where trade thrives, expeditions to unknown sectors are set up and is home to the largest shipping company in the entire Laniakea cluster.

Meet M64, the Sunflower in Space! This stunning galaxy reminds me of the center of a sunflower, with its deep dust lanes and indented center. M64, also known as NGC 4826, is a stunning and unusual galaxy. It is commonly known as the "Black Eye" or "Evil Eye" galaxy. However, since the galaxy reminds me the center of a sunflower, I like to think of it as the Sunflower Galaxy!
This beautiful galaxy is located in the constellation Coma Bernices and is about 17 million light-years away. M64 looks the way it does thanks to a collision with a satellite galaxy. Its outer disk of gas and dust spins in the opposite direction of its inner disk and core. The blue areas are where star formation is occurring.
I have been wanting to process this galaxy, but have always been intimdated by more than three filters, not to mention it required a special download method. Needless to say, I have finally figured out how to do these things and am very happy with how this image came out! I love to add red to my "dark" galaxy images. The red is not scientifically accurate, but offers nice contrast to the dark dust lanes.
