I was not going to post this due to poor quality of the shot, but every time I go though my discards I pause and think I can make something of it. The detail shadows is nonexistent and overall image is soft , but more than likely I will never get the pose again. My "Lowfi" shot

Our little trip to the mountains was a bust. It was so hazy that it was really not a good idea to even try taking any shots from this look out but I did it anyway. I am also off to the camera store to purchase a UV filter. I keep trying to convenience myself that this has a dreamy feel and that it really isn't that bad but I know better.
Looking for a definition of charming? One of the best bets is the lakeside town of Hallstatt, Austria. Despite the large numbers of tourists, it has retained its character and is a lovely place to just sit and gaze. Our first morning there was foggy and atmospheric, and I did cave in to the temptation to soften the image to augment the dreaminess of the scene.

Processing: straightorward LAB (see About) with an extra dodge/burn pixel layer to lighten the in-focus bud, calyx and foreground leaf. No vignette layer.
After adjustment in Curves, the A opponent and B opponent are out of register in the lower left quadrant.
I chose a soft DOF to convey a past that has faded to a time in our dreams. This little figurine is just 2 inches high and sits in my flower pot on the front porch now.
