This little fellow has been sitting on this rose for the past five days. Seems to like it there and doesn't mind getting his picture taken. The petals will fall if in a few days and we'll see where he ends up.
Bought a packet of seeds in the spring, enough to fill about six tubs with clouds of tiny fragrant flowers. Sweet Alyssum fills the garden with a scent a bit like warm honey on a sunny afternoon. A winner with me and also loved by the insects.

Blue Morpho Butterfly (Morpho peleides) at Hershey Gardens
As its common name implies, the blue morpho butterfly’s wings are bright blue, edged with black. The blue morpho is among the largest butterflies in the world, with wings spanning from five to eight inches. Their vivid, iridescent blue coloring is a result of the microscopic scales on the backs of their wings, which reflect light. The underside of the morpho’s wings, on the other hand, is a dull brown color with many eyespots, providing camouflage against predators such as birds and insects when its wings are closed. When the blue morpho flies, the contrasting bright blue and dull brown colors flash, making it look like the morpho is appearing and disappearing. The males’ wings are broader than those of the females and appear to be brighter in color. Blue morphos, like other butterflies, also have two clubbed antennas, two fore wings and two hind wings, six legs and three body segments—the head, thorax and abdomen.
When I come home after these photo sessions, the clothes are scented with grass and mint.
Quando torno a casa da questi giri fotografici, profumo di erba e menta.

Song of Solomon 7:12 “We lodge in the villages, we go early to the vineyards, we see if the vine hath flourished, the sweet smelling-flower hath opened. The pomegranates have blossomed, there do I give to thee my love.”
for me, the scent of Pine is most intoxicating - HMM!

She can smell them, the millions of cigarettes, joints and coffee cups,
the perfume of 1000 other women on his skin,
the sweat of fear from the TV New's.
No, he's not a man for marriage - he's only good for the love :)

Caught him smelling the air and staring at random spots on the balcony. The sunny morning did the rest!
Taken with Pentax K20D digital camera and smc Pentax-DA L 50–200mm F4–5.6 telephoto lens, part of the lightweight kit lens duo (hence the L). Not bad for a mere kit lens!
Spreading open, spreading wide
Inviting me to go inside
Down the path, coloured green
Where blooming beauty, it is seen
Its smell in my nose, it lingers
Its softness fills my roaming fingers
As it spreads, so very wide
Inviting me to walk deep inside
An outbound Metra commuter train passes the Blommer Chocolate factory located right in the middle of downtown Chicago. Seeing inner-city carload industry like this is becoming more and more rare in big cities like Chicago. I'm not very familiar with the area, and was completely surprised to see (and smell) this while walking around town!
